    Sometimes, in the plant world, plants produce flowers when they are feeling stressed or at 'death's door'. I believe it's a way for them to set flower, produce seeds and attempt to, at least, ensure their survival via their 'off spring'. I believe some animals do this too. Great video, by the way! I learnt so much. I am saving this one for future reference.

    Great tip for signs of over or underwatering! I did not know that. So wrinkly leaves at the base could mean root rot? And wrinkly leaves on the edges could mean underwatering? Thanks so much! (pausing to go check on my hoyas...) 😉

    I just potted up my Hoya cuttings and it took a little over 2 months to root this past spring.

    Is hoya bella a slow grower ? I bought a 2 leaf cutting from etsy , it rooted after 2 months in my propagation box 😐.
    Also with the hoya kerrii, does it grow from a leaf as they sell it in shops? BTW, I LOVED the video of hoya getting bottom watered!! Beautiful 😍

    • @GoodGrowing
      @GoodGrowing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't got a bella so I'm not too sure about their growth, but 2 months sounds quite quick for hoyas.
      Unfortunately I've heard that single leaf kerrii won't ever grow more...
      And thanks

    • @tipluxxxx5958
      @tipluxxxx5958 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hoya Kerri does grow from a single leaf, if it has a node. I bought a single leaf pot ("valentine plant pot" from a flower shop) about 8 months ago (in December 2020), and I immediately repotted it in home (2-3cm bigger pot size now than that original), and started to fertilize it, and it started to grow a vine & new leafs 4 months ago (having 2 new 7-8cm long leafs now). (I didn't remove the old substrate, I just added some more around the old substrate, just so that it full filled that bigger pot.) Unfortunately You can't see if a single leaf "valentinepot has a node or not, when you buy it (possible node is of course below a leaf embedded in mold). And Hoya Bella is a fast growing plant, and it has plenty of tiny leafs (which are not so waxy than other Hoya's), so it needs more water than other hoyas, so do not let it completely dry ever. It is gorgeous, makes plenty of flowers! 😍 (Sorry for my poor description, english is not my mother language.)

    • @GoodGrowing
      @GoodGrowing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I don't see why not. As long as it's getting enough light and not staying too wet. Keep an eye on the soil for a while at the beginning just in case!

      The head pot in the left of the video has a philodendron birkin. The head pot in the right of the video has a scindapsus pictus argyraeus (satin pothos)

    I'm here to find out how to look after my Hoya Compacta 😁

    • @tipluxxxx5958
      @tipluxxxx5958 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just don't give it too much water. Let it dry completely before watering it. Take care of it like you take care of succulents (even it is not a succulent). You'll see when the top leafs become wrinkled a little bit, then it is time to watering it. If the Compacta don't get enough bright light it's leafs begin turn yellow, also if You overwatering it. It's a difficult plant to take care of, but beautiful! My first Compacta died, I overwatered it during the dark wintertime. Now I give much more light for my present Compacta (I keep it in hanging basket, front of my western window) and I treat it like a succulent/cactus. 😁

    My Hoya is not growing and the stem near the soil look yellowish. Idk what happen to it, please help:)

    • @valp785
      @valp785 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The soul right now is completely dry, should I cut the stems and propagate them?

    • @valp785
      @valp785 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Soil*

    • @GoodGrowing
      @GoodGrowing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They grow soooooo slowly that I don't really notice growth until it's been a while. Yellowing leaves near the stem typically signify overwatering but you said the soil is dry so that's quite odd. You could propagate the stems or maybe repot it to check on the roots to see if there's any rot. If you want to DM me pics on Insta I may be able to better help :)
