This reminds me of a girl I loved in a dream. She was one of my best friends. We lived a whole life together, I woke up crying that night. Because I lost her before I could even confess my feelings. I sincerely hope that some dreams are memories of other lives. Because every now and then, I think of her and my heart hurts, I miss her...

I guess I should be grateful for the dream because I not only remember the feelings I felt but now from the dream I can remember bits about her. She was taller than me with long blonde hair. Sometimes she'd sneak up on me and cup my eyes doing that silly 'guess who' thing. I remember us laughing and smiling together with our group around a wooden rectangle table at a bar with food. We were all so close because we all went to the same school together. I remember we worked as a group doing odd jobs fighting various types of enemies. I was the leader and I thought that I didn't have time for trivial things like romance, I felt like I was too busy with the burden of leading our team. One night we were getting ready to set off for a particularly dangerous job in the morning. We gad to go and take back a gate that had been overrun by our clients enemies. She ran in ahead of us while we were sleeping. I guess she was trying to prove to me that she could help shoulder my responsibilities. That morning when we all woke up to gather together someone came and told me she was missing. I knew her and I knew exactly where she'd gone. This is where I start to lose my grip, I'm so upset and I'm crying and running towards the gate. I remember praying and begging for her to still be okay, to just hang in there until I came for her. I remember fighting but because I was so upset I couldn't keep my composure and I was balling my eyes out. I was remembering all the regret I had because I never told her how I felt about her, she could be dead and I'd have no chance to ever see her again. I woke up balling my eyes out and grieving for her. I exited the dream mid battle so I never got to see if she lived or died or even if I lived or died. But I remember the regret of not telling her how I felt, of not being able to hold her and be with her the way I really wanted to. It's a lonely feeling knowing that it was all a dream. Because it felt so real. I'm grateful to be able to remember her though and I think there is a good lesson in there. Like don't take life too seriously and always follow your heart

But I also want to share something that I do believe in, that is that if the dream really was some kind of past life, then maybe 'cause of the way you two understood each other, maybe you were soulmates? I remember hearing this song cover back in December and immediately falling in love with this song. That month itself, the love of my life came into my life, my baby, my kitten, Kitchu. My mother found him by the gutter and brought it home when he was only a few weeks old. I didn't particularly like cats back then because I thought that they were not loving at all. But as time gradually went by, it drew closer to me. I used to sing this song to him to lull him to sleep. It was the first time I loved something so deeply. I was still recovering from a past love. I used to hold it to my chest and it was the first time I showed that level of physical affection to a living being. I thought he would drift away when he grew up. But he didn't. Every morning he waited for me to open my bedroom door. Every day it came and sat next to me during dinner and played with my brother in the afternoon. Every day he would try to get in the house when we tried to make it sleep outside the house. Every day he would climb onto my lap when I patted my lap. My mother passed away on 01/june/2021 of bile duct cancer, every time I listen to this song I remember her because, when Daddy went to work I stayed with her, she was my best friend, my partner and now that she is not here With me it hurts a lot 😔 but I know that she no longer suffers.

POV: This song hits you differently if you've ever been a foster child, passed from home to home. One of the foster home I was in, around the age when I was 4 years old, they "loved" me and promised to adopted me. But, as time went by, their feelings changed. They didn't seem to love me as much, involve me with the rest of their family as much, & literally would leave me locked alone in the house, while they went out. They became abusive in many ways. Even still, I longed for a family, especially a mother. The end of the song, where the lyrics say: "Lonely and forgotten, never thought she'd look my way... She smiled at me and held me, just like she used to do, like she loved me.. . When she loved me. . ." Those lyrics really got to me, because as a foster child, this is exactly what they do to us. At the last minute, they all of a sudden act like they "love" us again, giving us false hope. They tell use they're going to take us out for ice cream or something. They finally give us the attention & love we've been seeking and desperately have been needing. But this time, it's the last time. This time, it's because they are taking us back to either an orphanage, or to another foster home, etc. And the cycle continues, again and again, for many foster children unfortunately. 😢
When I couldnt find anyone to tell everything I wanna say, I just realized that myself is always on my side. She didnt leave me after I chose others over her. Now, I know she's just waiting for me. She comforts me when others can't. She helps me to wipe my tears while others laugh. She helps me to be happy when others gave me sadness. To most people this song sounds like a break-up reflection song but for me it seems so much more impactful than that thanks to Jessie. Jessie’s owner gradually forgets about her and eventually abandons her near the park she used to play with her at. I can’t listen to this without crying. POV: This song hits you differently if you've ever been a foster child, passed from home to home.
One of the foster home I was in, around the age when I was 4 years old, they "loved" me and promised to adopted me. But, as time went by, their feelings changed. They didn't seem to love me as much, involve me with the rest of their family as much, & literally would leave me locked alone in the house, while they went out. They became abusive in many ways. Even still, I longed for a family, especially a mother.
The end of the song, where the lyrics say:

Those lyrics really got to me, because as a foster child, this is exactly what they do to us. At the last minute, they all of a sudden act like they "love" us again, giving us false hope. They tell use they're going to take us out for ice cream or something. They finally give us the attention & love we've been seeking and desperately have been needing. But this time, it's the last time. This time, it's because they are taking us back to either an orphanage, or to another foster home, etc. And the cycle continues, again and again, for many foster children unfortunately. 😢

Listening to this version made me relive some of our best moments together, but it also broke my heart. I feel like I never had the chance to mourn her death as being away made me feel like she was just waiting for me back home. I felt as if when I got back, she would receive me at the door, jumping, moving her tail. When I finally got home, realization hit me. I did not have the chance to say goodbye. I did not have tha chance to si g to her one last time. She loved when I played my guitar for her. This song helped me to finally cry because she is no longer here and will never be back. I know it may seem like an exaggeration, but for me, she was not only my dog. She was my best friend, always there for me. We grew old together, and I will forever miss her every single day.

This song reminds me of a friend I lost. No, she didn’t pass away, but it seemed like I did to her. One minute we were 7 years old playing witches in my basement, mixing grass and toothpaste in my sink and getting my parents mad at us. Now I remember everyday she pushes past me in the halls, I saw her become friends with the girls who hated me, who I’ve heard talk badly about her but she stayed. She never talks to me but I think about our friendship everyday and im very lonely now, o was suicidal for a while and I hated myself for not being good enough. My whole life I’ve had friends who just insulted me and not in the friend way. They were never there when I needed them. Until I found my bestie. She insulted me but in the bestie way and when I was hurt she gave me a shoulder to cry on. To most people this song sounds like a break-up reflection song but for me it seems so much more impactful than that thanks to Jessie. Jessie’s owner gradually forgets about her and eventually abandons her near the park she used to play with her at. I can’t listen to this without crying. I hope and pray no one ever has been in a similar situation like Jessie’s nor has to be. Being forgotten over time and then abandoned in a place you used to love and exactly where you spent most of your quality time with the same person who left you there 😭
