But was it that hard to find someone who speaks Korean or knows what it sounds like- especially when you are filming in flippin Korea?? I couldn't help but just shake my head until it started to hurt.

I just don't understand why a Korean American lady who couldn't speak Korean was chosen for that scene. And I live in America, there really isn't a lot of Korean American ladies who are her age who can't speak Korean, like most are first generation Korean American and speak flawless Korean. So it was a very small chance in the first chance that this lady can't speak Korean, and to be in Korea of all places., the casting director could have just picked any middle aged lady selling things in the market place to play her role and that would have done the job perfectly., Lupita spoke better Korean than the "Korean" lady and that says a lot.,
You must be a really good linguist, I have been learning for 4 months and just about know the alphabet, word order and some words and phrases- but apparently my pronunciation makes up for it.😂
Thank you guys! first of all you guys need to follow a certain textbook or website that can help you learn grammar because you can’t just use youtube videos you need to cover the grammar, So i recommend Talk to me in korean.com and howtostudykorean.com but i personally choose talk to in korean because it helped me more its really easy and simplified. Now with the vocab, i am still not good at the vocab part but i recommend covering it after you fully cover your grammar. Also use the Hellotalk to talk to actual koreans but make sure to make you native language english if you are good at english! Good luck! I am not so good yet but i am able to communicate , understand those subtitles and the songs when i read them because i need work on my hearing , vocab and i still have a lil more grammar to cover
So i was Watching jolly seasons and korean englishman for about a month now.. and i dont know why but its so perfect that everything i love is on one place in their videos .. coz I fell in love to korean ever since i was 8 , and I love how Ollie and josh being bestfriend and doing what they love and being happy and content with their lives, and a lot of stuff..

올리가 한국말 배우는거 보면 우리가 학교에서 영어를 몇년동안 배워도 못하는 이유를 알것같다 언어는 그냥 매일매일 그 언어속에서 살아야 익힐 수 있는거 같음 특정시간에만 배워서 될게 아니라
동감입니다 독해와 달리 회화는 환경이 갖추어줘야합니다 매일 영어를 듣고 말하고 할 수 밖에 없는, 그런 생존적인 언어 환경에 있으면 실력이 느는건 시간문제겠죠 물론 우리나라에서도 인위적으로 영어환경을 만들수는 있지만 더많은 노력이 필요하겠죠

한국어는 문법이 복잡해서 그렇지 어휘는 괜찮아요. 한 뜻에 단어 그렇게 많지 않고.... 영어는 뜻당 단어가 많으면 막 열 개... 다 미묘~하게 다른 뉘앙스... 너무 열받습니다.
어휘가 문제가 아니라 서술어의 활용이 너무 많죠 서술어에 동사 형용사 명사 다 들어가는거도 쟤들은 띠용인데 시제 조건 높임법 등 어마어마한 활용이 있죠. 근데 서술어만 알면 나머진 뒤죽박죽으로 말해도 거의 상관없어서 편해지죠. 대단한 언어예요
