Question..... when the Paladin rushes in to attack while in her angel form, why wouldn't she have to roll a wisdom save against the creatures screaming? Or whatever is going on, before rolling to hit?
I know its been a while since you asked, but figured I would still answer. The rules say "each creature that starts its turn within 20 feet of the mouther and can hear the gibbering". The Paladin started her turn 30 feet away (30 > 20), so she was unaffected for that turn.
I adore this module, it's one of my favorites for introducing players to D&D!
