I caught 32 in 3 days with mouse traps with crunchy peanut butter as bait. They had ate all the bulbs in my flower beds and then some. Now at first signs I set traps and I also put something down under my bird feeders in winter to help control numbers. Those little buggers can do a lot of damage that goes unnoticed
I have little holes in the ground without any dirt mounds, and no runs connecting to them. This is on a kind of barren clay strip of land. Weeds, not grass. I put out snap traps around the holes and covered them with plastic bins and salad bowls. They licked the bait clean off and never snapped the traps. :(
I always thought I had voles instead of moles because there were so many entrance holes. But the runs are mounds. So how do I know which critter I have?

Same here. I placed peanut butter on mouse traps, placed bucket over it and the only thing it attracted was ants. Live in high desert.
thank you
what do you do with them after you've caught them?

Pocket gophers make a dirt mound run. Not hard to catch
Install a Barn Owl nest box.
Will rat poison kill them
There is a product called voleX, supposedly only kills rodents. 👍🙂
