Widespread Panic performs "Let's Get The Show On The Road" with Nicky Sanders on fiddle, on October 26th, 2014. 10/26/2014 Riverside Theater Milwaukee, Wisconsin Shot & Edited by Andy Tennille
Ok, this explains it, from Wikipedia... "John Farmer Bell (born April 14, 1962) is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the American rock band Widespread Panic... Bell grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where he graduated from University School in 1980. He attended the University of Georgia." Good job, Mr. Bell. Proselytizing Michael Stanley to the south.
The first time I saw Michael play this song was in 1975. The last time was in 2008. He passed last March. I'm sure he would have loved seeing this. Great job by the band.
Let's get the show on the road, babe At the curtain, take a bow New Haven, just a rendezvous to take you to A lover--who was then, but never now Susan played the lady Who called the players' songs Just a figurine of stagehand reveries Guess up-and-coming can't be that wrong... Let's get the show on the road, babe Spotlights on the stage Ah, my, it seems I've heard these words before Did you forget to turn the page? And remember what they told you About how 'the show goes on' How can you come back, if you've never gone away? How can you sing--how can you sing without a song... And today's for sale And it's all you can afford By your own admission Well, the whole thing's got you bored And the Lord uses the good ones The bad ones use the Lord... Let's get the show on the road, babe Better take a look around Ya got one thing to remember When you're climbing to the top You'd better know the way back down... I can't believe you'd really stumble But then, I always knew you'd fall It seems so easy, to say 'I knew you when' I'd rather it was not at all 💎
Most excellent! It all is more felt than heard it has such amazing energy and seems intensified with the violin which makes me not exactly hear, feel or see but become the music truth be told ✌️❤️🔥🎶
Sooner or later, it all gets real..Hope the boys play this song again in Milwaukee, 2015! There are sure a lot of lost folks here in Wisconsin who need a little rock n' roll for their soul!
Michael Stanely was so underrated; God Bless you, Michael. Thank you for all the shows.
