Superb by Semmangudi Mama ! SrI satya nArAyaNam Ragam Siva pantuvarALi Rupaka Talam Muthuswami Dikshitar Krithi This Kriti is in the second Vibhakti The Mudra is inCharanam This Krithi is on Bhadrinath Temple Lord Bhadrinarayana ( Please Ref Anupallavi bhAsamAna badarI sthitam ) . The Badrinath area is referred to as Badari or Badarikaashram (बदरिकाश्रम) in Hindu scriptures. It is a place sacred to Vishnu, particularly in Vishnu's dual form of Nara-Narayana. Thus, in the Mahabharata, Krishna, addressing Arjuna, says, "Thou wast Nara in a former body, and, with Narayana for thy companion, didst perform dreadful austerity at Badari for many myriads of years. One legend has it that when the goddess Ganga was requested to descend to earth to help suffering humanity on the request of suryavansh king bhagiratha, the earth was unable to withstand the force of her descent. Therefore, the mighty Ganga (Ganges) was split into two holy channels, with Alaknanda one of them. Another Legend explains both name and sitting posture as this place was full of Badri bushes and Vishnu meditating for, beloved Lakshmi stood next to him sheltering him from scorching sunlight turned into a Badri herself called 'BADRI VISHAL' and her lord(Nath) became the BadriNath. P SrI satya nArAyaNaM upAsmahE nityaM satya jnAnAnanda-mayaM sarvaM vishNu-mayam We worship always, Sri Satyanarayana, the one whose nature is Existence-awareness-bliss, the one who embodies the statement “everything in the world is permeated by Vishnu”, AP vAsavAdi pUjitaM vara muni gaNa bhAvitaM dAsa jana paripAlitaM bhAsamAna badarI sthitam he one worshipped by Indra and other gods, the one meditated upon by groups of eminent sages, the protector of devout servants, the one residing in splendour in Badarinath, C vaiSya jAti kAraNaM vaTu vEsha dhAriNaM kali yuga prasannaM vasu pradAna nipuNam (madhyama kAla sAhityam) matsya kUrma varAhAdi daSAvatAra prabhAvaM Sankha cakrAbja hastaM guru guha nuta prasiddham the causer of the Vaishya class, the one who bears the form of a youth (brahmacArin), the one who is perspicuous in the Kaliyuga, - the expert at granting wealth, the one who has the glory of ten incarnations such as fish, tortoise , wild boar etc., the one holding the conch and discus in his lotus-like hands, the renowned one praised by Guruguha.
This seems to be the authentic version... Some established singers have sung this as if they are to catch a train..Dikshitar created these kritis like mantras... Not to be raced through but to feel each word....
I feel anyone who has listened well to Semmangudi-ayya's renditions, would find it hard to listen to the likes of Sanjay or TMK. Shastriya Carnatic singing is not just all about technical prowess and his renditions never got corrupted with time, they only got better, as they should rightfully be.
ONLY Semmangudi can sing this krithi, compared to all the rest. They should respect him by not singing. Thyagaraja respected syama sastry but not touching Anandabhairavi ragam in his 24000 krithis. That is bhaktha bhavam and true respect. The present crop of musicians will remember this. Namaskarams to carnatic musicians.
Old is always gold....Look at swarams ending with Sathya......
This is a master piece of an immortal musician.

For your info, saint tyagaraja did compose a krithi in anandabhairavi.
Same way, Mr SSI should have respected by not singing Thyagarajas compositions like he was about to catch a train.
