Until they have to buy tires .... are you informing them when they buy it in 15K they will need to spend 700.00+ for a new set only available at THE DEALERSHIP ???? What a rip off.
WOW, THAT PASSENGER SEAT CAN BE USED AS A DINING TABLE OR A COOKING TOP. I WANT THIS VAN. I CAN PUT A TWIN SIZE BED IN THE BACK FOR SLEEPING AND A SMALL PORTABLE STOVE FOR COOKING. I CAN USE THIS VAN FOR CROSS COUNTRY ROAD TRIP. PERFECT.
How wonderful. As a NV200 owner I am impressed how Nissan bends me over for substandard tires that only last 18K miles and then charges 175.00 each for replacements which are the only tire available and then ONLY at the dealership. Dont buy one unless you want to spend 700.00 every 18K miles for tires.
Not to mention noisy as hell and in the rain or wind it's deafening and blows you all over the road! These things are death traps. Still waiting for the crash testing. Oh and about 250 to 300 miles on a tank of gas is miserable for long drives.
I agree whole heartedly!! Still hate mine. Forced to have it through work! Tire pressure lights come on every time the wind changes direction as well. So much I don't like.
Cameraman is testing the refresh rates of my monitor with the fast pans...switch that guy to decaf. LOL Tires are so small it looks like it is on rollerskates and with that gutless motor it makes sense. I am guessing above 10sec for 0-60 at sea level on a cold morning...so the bicycle lane will be going faster and better fuel economy too. Other than that, it is a very well thought out vehicle by the sounds of it.
Wait until you see it in person. The whole van is super small. When I first saw one of the prototypes out testing I couldn't believe how little it was. From what I've read they are not expecting to sell huge numbers of them, but it does fill a niche in the market. Incidentally, GM will also be selling these as Chevys through their fleet sales dealers.
when I looked at the site Dodge Ram site I didn't the diesel. They also did not report all three fuel figures (highway, city and combined) together so I had to refer to government data and the latest provided was 2012. You have a good point about the issue power and consumption at full load capacity. An example is the Australian starfire commodore large car, where a 4 cylinder was fitted for improvements in fuel consumption but the strain meant it consumed more than the 6 cylinder.
Concerning the rear doors, tailgate and hatchback would have been better, full rear window. Also would have been able to carry a full 4 x 8 sheet of plywood.
It's all about gearing. It's actually 24 combined/25 highway. It's clear that they gear this thing for short distance hauling and city driving. If it had taller gears, it would probably see better unladen highway mileage, but that's probably not what this van was made to do. A diesel would also be expensive. The 3.0L Ecodiesel is already $4,000-$5,000 over the Pentastar 3.6L V6. How much would it cost over this little 2.0L 4 cylinder?
I agree with you. I really like this van but I can't buy it because it's only 2-seat. If they bring us a passenger version with a pure electric powertrain, I'll definitely go for it.
I was speaking of the 2014 1500 diesel. Please read the comment first. It will have a 3.0 diesel and make 240hp and 420 lb ft of torque, not a 2012 model :P. Also mated to an 8 speed which makes it really efficient. Either way my point was to use a more fuel efficient power plant. Diesels have been proven to provide better fuel economy. That was the point I was getting across. Also to be honest putting 1500 lbs in that thing with 130 crankshaft horsepower would make it a total dog.
Nissan NV200 Combi or the Nissan Evalia are two people movers. I'm not sure they are in the American market though. They are fairly common in Asia though, as one would assume.
I honestly don't see it being possible, economical or even ecological to convert fleets of work vehicles to electric (outside of very specific & uncommon situations) within the next 30-40 years. Not unless there is a breakthrough as big as the electric motor itself. Rental fleets & maybe even taxis I think might be close. There is still a lot of work to be done before I would even be willing to rent the electrics or hybrids on the market today.
is a really good example. int the world, mostly need 4 cyl car , not 4 to floor. depent how motor oil u use. need to learn how to use it. like las vegas use 0w20 5w20, is more plastical and useful, not useless .tax 24hrs driving, need to learn the oil. otherwise, need a lot of repare charge.
I HOPE NISSAN BRING THE PASSENGER VERSION OF THIS NV TO THE USA TOO. IN ASIA, THEY HAVE THE PASSENGER VERSION. THIS VAN IS SIMPLE, COST-EFFECTIVE, AND FRUGAL.
The 2014 Transit Connect is better than this thing. It's really underpowered. The TC is gonna have a 2.5l is gonna have 30 more HP and torks and the 1.6l ecoboost is gonna be an option.
24mpg and 135hp? Are you serious? I'm sorry I like the Idea but 24mpg and only 135hp just sucks! drop a diesel in it or something! Seriously! 24mpg isn't an improvement! It worse than the new 1500 diesel dodge has. That thing is heavier, has almost twice the horsepower and triple the torque and still can get better MPG.
We've sold dozens of these vans so far and the customers LOVE them
Until they have to buy tires .... are you informing them when they buy it in 15K they will need to spend 700.00+ for a new set only available at THE DEALERSHIP ???? What a rip off.
It was everything I did NOT want to know. TELL ME ABOUT THE VEHICLE!

Wow, every NV200 review on here you have posted the same thing. You must be really angry!
just trying to warn others and maybe get Nissan to do something about their quality.
I agree whole heartedly!! Still hate mine. Forced to have it through work! Tire pressure lights come on every time the wind changes direction as well. So much I don't like.
+sunwin wu. Yes the Nissan Dealerships are screwing people.
Wonderful!! I love NV200s and enjoyed this video

For those who think it's underpowered: I drive the NV200 1.5 (!) diesel engine (I live in Europe). Drives pretty well, even fully loaded.
Anyone slagging it off for bhp figures or what they think it will do 0-60 in don't know shit about real world driving.
wish the video showed more of the vehicle - but very informative

You wanna review your statement??

Good to know about the history of NV200 compact cargo van in USA :)
Nice interview

"When we designed it" you didn't design it,Nissan did. Franchised dealers just move metal made by somebody else.
Good point. It might just be me being bias because I like diesel power more than gas! :D

how much can this nv200 tow??

You should do the bigger NV
So far as I know a recent court decision removed the requirement that any new cab in NYC be this vehicle.
I read the case on Wikipedia, an appellate court ruled in favor of Nissan
I've seen this vehicle as a delivery truck. I could also see it like a food truck.
The power is fine. It's a small, inexpensive urban work van, not a sports car.
Its Under Powered. But its a nice little Van
Yes
I just wanted to show better fuel economy was possible. Even though it wasn't really an apples to apples comparison.
He had to double leave take on that cvt question.

good!👍
Almost nothing about the van itself but lots about the marketing...
Ya welcome to sea level. America's finest city!!! #Dagol
i can see jared from shipping wars will be driving this nexted and brake it in 6 months
You should review the Chevrolet whatever the hell its called.... AKA this thing
The 2014 Transit Connect is better than this thing. It's really underpowered. The TC is gonna have a 2.5l is gonna have 30 more HP and torks and the 1.6l ecoboost is gonna be an option.
underpowered
I would get the vw
Why do nissan put tiny wheels on their vehicles?!!
So the dealership can bend you over for replacements - the tires are ONLY available at the dealership. #nissanbentmeover
I think it's the NV 3500

Why would you even compare a crown vic to a van ?
2 wheel drive
ford crown vic have more horse power 60 more ponys to play with and rear weel drive
yes I do ford crown vic is better then that stubit van
Absolutely nothing I wanted to know.
the CVT for work ??? sucks.
Holy crap, why is everything Nissan makes lately HIDEOUS?
Wheelbase is horrible. Tires blow all the time.
Please redesign this crap, since 2014 nothing charged and drives like total 💩
ugly design
