Hi everyone! In this video I share the answer to a question I get all the time, am I going to get a PhD. I share the questions I asked myself when trying to decide if this was the right next step in my career. I also share the work I recommend doing when you're trying to make this decision for yourself.

Sorry I'm just here by accident. But I'm a 2nd year PhD student and jobs market is really not something I considered when planning for my studies. I'm just consumed by passion. And I experienced a call. I think I was born to be a researcher and writing my statement of interest was relatively easy for me. I think guts feelings are crucial.
As someone studying art history, getting my bachelors in a crazy time, your videos have really helped guide me. I’ve always been afraid of the reality of the wages etc. but I follow my heart in my love for art and it’s history!
A degree in Egyptology sounds pretty cool. I was attracted to Anthropology because I like Ancient Egyptian art and architecture. :)
this has been so helpful, especially at a time when I am trying to apply for PhD's and cannot for the life of me write a super convincing statement of purpose.
Great to find a vlog representing we Egyptologists! Tough time for our field, but i take solace in knowing that the subject of our studies has been around FAR longer than any economic downturn! As King Tut said “life’s sands shift with the desert moon”
Very sage review for all of us to consider. I received a PhD in Organization and Management from a for profit university taking 4 years. I was as able to pay for that education employing “pay as you go”, employee reimbursement and had the ability to pay off any loans within one year of graduation.
