I think it's important to show that whether you're new to something or experienced, we all have things that go wrong sometimes. It's how we deal with it that's important... New possibilities arrive and can be taken ☺️🧵🪡

Sometimes when I can't sleep in the night I get up and crochet a bit. I like to turn on your videos or another lady who stitches and your voices and quiet manner calm me and I go back to sleep. Don't take that the wrong way!! It is a compliment.

Thanks Maureen. It's either cry over the spilt milk.... Or move forward and mop it up 😂
In this case the only thing I could think of was to cut the whole thing in half!

I'm sure that won't quite be the end of the flowers.... I do have a lifesize honeysuckle to create at some point! And in the meantime the birds are still ongoing.

I just feel that there's always something that can be done. It's just changing your mindset a little so you don't see a mistake as the end of some vision you had in your head of something perfect that is now ruined. Look at those times as an opportunity instead.

You can be very proud with the book. It is amazing. You collect and save everything, and I think it is so funny, because I do the same. Lots of little jars, boxes filled with beads, buttons, threads, you name it, I have it. I always say it is my shop, I don't need to go to a real shop. And I can start with something new, without buying all the stuff first. Curious what you make next week.

I’ve just found you!!!!! A bit of ‘binge watching ‘ coming up. FYI …. I’ve got quite a few of those big needles and I can tell you what they were used for in our house. My father, ex RN man, used to make floor rugs. Several lengths of wool went through the eyes of the needle and long rows were looped into repaired hessian sacks. Then the wool was cut to about 4 inches and pushed up and over itself. Another row followed, tightly beneath and you were started. Dad made many, many of our household rugs and I remember the times when they had enough money to actually buy the wool for a design he had created himself. Happy memories. Love your book….. I remember bluebell and campion woods in Devon as I lived there from 9-12yrs. So, it’s hello from a sunny Belfast ….. looking forward to getting your channel

Well firstly... welcome to my channel Christine. I'm glad you found me ☺️
So interesting about the big needle... I'm going to do some internet research about it now! I can tell you it's a very useful tool for poking holes in things😅

Maybe a hint for long usage: some kind of cover to keep your embroidered from getting oils from your skin on your stitching. A very lightweight fabric that is shiny - gossamer- ey. Just a thought.

Do you mean to keep it in...or to cover whilst working?🤔

Yes they do. But I don't think that's actually what they are. I think from an old nurses cape possibly....

Oh Marion! You are so clever to figure out how to make your spine work…and so brave to cut it in half!
Well, it worked out just fine and is a beautiful volume of handwork❤
What is the title of your hardback flower book that you use for inspiration? Thanks for all you share with us!

It's the Reader's Digest Field Guide to the Wild Flowers of Britain. There are ones for butterflies and birds too..

What is wonder bond and where can it be purchased in the UK please?

    • @marionsworld24
      @marionsworld24  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It's called Bondaweb in the UK. It's a fusible web used for applique or for putting up hems without sewing. It's a double sided glue sheet. You iron it on to one piece of fabric.. cut out your shape, take off the backing paper and then iron it on to another piece of fabric. Your local fabric shop should stock it. Also Boyes, if you have one nearby.

Aren’t you clever! Yes, I cringed when you cut the cover…but wow…what beauty from “ashes!” Better than the original!

😅 I knew some people would be horrified.... But it all worked out fine in the end..
