My garage is 30x25 and was installed without any contraction joints. The floor is 20+ years old and has several cracks due to not having any joints. My question is if I fill these cracks with this product, do I need to go back and cut joints? or will this product flex enough in the cracks to be ok.
If I have a smaller garage can I sand it down with a palm sander? I also have an angle grinder. Not sure which you recommend and with what type of attachment. Thanks!
I want to be sure my saw cuts or joints are level. I noticed it seemed after adding the set 100 liquid on the sand it settled a bit. Is that true? Do I add more sand while wet, level it off and pour the liquid again? Or does the sand expand when the liquid is introduced and I level off then? What kind of sanding methods are recommended for the normal home owner. I will have to buy something to sand it down. Also if it’s not level after it cures can I add more sand and liquid to build it up?
Excellent Questions!!! It can settle a bit as it soaks into the sand. You can shoot more resin onto it and sweep a bit more sand if needed. It does not expand. We grind this material flat, remember you have resin and sand (very strong together). So either use an angle grinder with a diamond cup wheel (most homeowners have an angle grinder) or if you will grind the floor anyway, use your walk-behind grinder rented from THD or your local rental house. Thanks!
@@LegacyIndustrial1 Thanks, I have a couple more quetions, 1.) its up to 115º here in Vegas. Even now 11:10 at night its 100º right now as I just checked. How will that affect my "usage time" so when I mix it in those temps how long do I have to work with it? 2.) Lets say I fill all the joints and after it cures I notice I need to add more to it. Can I add more to it 1 hour later or a day later? Or No its only while its curing and you cant add more as it won't adhere to whats already cured. 3.) I'm using Rustoleums roll on RockSolid floor coating. It's gonna be thick metalic and a clear coat. Several layers over several days. WIll my flooring crack over time? I know rustoleum says if you use any caulking on the joints prior to rolling it on it will crack over time. 3.) I need another angle grinder anyway but I was just wondering how hard this stuff was and if I could just hand sand with a heavy grit it I get it pretty close to level. Vlosing note lol. I want to take my time like in your close up video and try to get it very leveled and clean. But with our heat in Vegas and the fast cure time I don't think I'll have that luxuroy to do these joints with such precision and care. I feel like the liquid is going to cure to quick and I'll be mixing a bunch of small bottles. Or just add my sand spray my liquid let it cure and the next day come through and do it again. Than maybe just rent the floor grinder. Let me know. Thanks.
@@desertrider325 We sell this product to people in 48 states and we are located farther South than you. LOL. You can add a bit more, right away. If need to add more the next day, only can do this after sanding the initial application. Anything related to a joint CAN happen, no guarantees from us regarding the integrity of your slab, this would come from the builder. That said if you are on a sand-base, should not be an issue. Use it as we show in our videos, sand first, then resin. Thanks.
My garage floor contraction joints were made with embedded Zip Strips made of Vinyl. Impossible to remove all the strip with a chasing blade. Will this be an issue when using this product? Many Thanks in advance. .
Do you have a viscosity measurement for this product? Does it soak the sand easily because it flows well or does it reach the top 1/2" or 1"?
It will soak into the sand 3 inches!! Very thin at early stage.

Travis, most folks (99.9%) do not cut new joints. This has flexibility but is no match for a slab that really wants to move. Hope this helps.

If you keep the material even with the floor, however a diamond cup wheel works best.
Will this work for formed contraction joints? The kind with a radius edge that would results in nearly a 2" span of filler at the top edge?
It is a bit more work but can be done successfully.

Louis P. I just ordered it. How long will it take to ship and reach me? Thanks.
Louis P. I forgot to ask if this has any flex to it at all? Can the joints still flex a little during the winter and summer temp changes?

.
It works best with an open joint/cut, sand then resin. I would think the vinyl would have to go at least a 1/8" below the surface.
Do you have to add Sand? or cand it be just the filler?
Small voids can go NEAT, larger should be used with sand.
