Lepchajagat is one of the popular tourist destination of Darjeeling. It is a mystic place in the lap of the Himalayan. This is a small village located in an altitude of 6956 feet and its only 19 km from Darjeeling hill town. It takes hardly 45 minutes by car from Darjeeling. For its geographical position, through out the year the temperature remain cold, in the winter season snow fall is the common part of weather. For the reason the place become most popular tourist destination. This place is ideal place for nature & bird lover. And you can spend 2-3 days in the middle of the dense forest to refresh your mind and soul. Where you can enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Kanchanjungha. Lepchajagat is all about dense forested area full of pine, oks, and rhododendrons. This area was taken over by the West Bengal Forest Development Corporation (WBFDC) and it is now a reserve forest area.
Best time to visit Lepchajagat ------- October to April is the great time to enjoy the nature. Avoid monsoon (June to September) for rainy weather.
