Margaret Mitchell published ‘Gone With The Win’ novel in 1936 at first time. One year later her works won the Pulitzer Prize in 1937.

A decent effort. Pity there is not a single audiobook of this classic read by an ACTUAL American Southerner. Much less one of an upper class Georgian. More engaging than this…attempt. Still, SO much better than AI.

I'm confused bc I've read this book about 15x easy, and I'm 15 min in n we are already at the bbq? That doesn't happen til chapter 3? Soooooo much amazing stuff was left out. But, seeing as this is the only version there is on TH-cam for free at the moment, I'm glad u did it. I just hope the listeners know that an entire chapter was left out (at the least bc considering that this is only 4 hours long and to read it in it's entirety would take about 48hrs). The detail is what makes the book so very beautiful and my fear is that you only have part one and two on here. Each are about two hrs long. That's only mb 1/8 of the book, unless your planning on a part 3 4 5 and 6. So without listening any further I already know you didn't include that Scarlett had 3 kids and not just Bonnie. She had one to Charles and Frank as well. Kind of worried to listen to it because this is my favorite book. You should at least put up a disclaimer saying that this is a summary of the book just in case people who never read the novel think that this is all there is. It's honestly insulting to say that this is Gone with the Wind, written by Margaret Mitchell, because this isn't the novel she wrote. The movie itself is some 4 hrs long and this audiobook is 4hrs long from beginning to end..... ummm... no. I appreciate the effort but, why not read her novel? And if your going to read these cliff notes of the novel, at least put up a disclaimer so that it encourages people to go out and buy her book. I found my first paperback of it at a thrift store for 75 cents n I read it til the pages fell out. I'm now on copy number 3 and am hoping to someday get a hardback someday. I just . . I can't stand to listen to it anymore.. if u had a disclaimer than maybe I could respect that but some people who are listening to this think that this is what she wrote... That this is the novel the movie is based on, and that's just not true. This is a drop in the bucket. As pretty as this may seem to some one who doesn't know, it's nothing in comparison to the full novel, it's breath taking, if they like this they would absolutely love the full version.
I found an unabridged version. It only goes up to 5 chapters.
I have been listening for almost 2 hours and downloaded the ebook because I wanted to figure out where I was in the book.
I was shocked to find out this is the abridged version. I wish they had put up a disclaimer because I never would have wasted my time. Now I have to start over and I feel like I’ve cheated since I know some of the things that have happened now.. so frustrating.
I wonder how many people never even realize they are listening to the abridged version

It has been edited, but not too much to affect the story (afterall the novel is over a thousand pages).

I should've known because it's so short, but wish it said in the title this isn't the full version book. Otherwise, awesomely done
Not full version you can read it in introduction, however it is still good version, not full but not short and keep main content
This fills a gap for me. I was disappointed when the unabridged version was removed. I think it is quite clear that this version of the story is designed and posted in the interest of helping people learn the English language. It says so in half a dozen ways!
I loved the movie too. My wedding dress was fashioned after that time period. I’ve always been a Clark Gable fan, until I found out some things I wish were not true, such as the child by Loretta Young he refused to recognize. I loved every character in the movie. I know the raciest comments, but like many it was a book I read over n over n even had a copy of the movie. Those that disagree-simply don’t watch.

The novel is, absolutely, but this is a extremely short summary of it with entire chapters missing. If you ever get the chance to read the novel, do it. It is incredible

This is an abridged version of the novel. Much of the original dialog is missing
Scarlett O'Hara was not beautiful but men seldom realized it when caught by her charms as the Tarleton twins were. In her face were too sharply blended the delicate features of her mother, a Coast aristocrat of French descent, and the heavy ones of her florid Irish father. But it was an arresting face, pointed of chin, square of jaw. ... That's strictly from memory folks...❤

NOT THE NOVEL. You really should remove the words "by Margaret Mitchell" as this is not her work. More disturbing than the fact that this is severely edited is the fact that what remains has been completely rewritten. It is Margaret Mitchell's story as paraphrased by an anonymous amateur. Somebody went to a lot of effort to damage a great work of fiction. Not sure why.
The WOKE mob made them heavily edit the book as it offended them. The whole book is slashed to pieces.😮

This is due to the wokes cutting everything from the original. I've been reading this for years and listened for years and you can't get the original copy on audiobook anymore. So peed off.
This is some kind of abridged version. Not right at all. And the high, squeaky voice of reader is most unappealing. The whole thing is a total zero.
