For anyone considering it in the UK - Tattoos, bracelets etc for DNAR are not recognised by any medical staff. Only a signed and witnessed medical or legal document is regarded as fact. Even this has to be dated within a fairly short timeframe, used to be 2 years, though this may now have changed.
i think a cool one is actually one my grandpa wanted: he had a ton of heart issues and thought it could be a cool thing to “document “ what happened with different beats or whatever( heart attack with a matching sequence n all)! sadly he never got the chance to get it due to passing but it’s one i’m interested in mimicking!
I got my heart rate tatted on mewhich is normal rhythm with a tachycardic rhythm in it as well as infinity sign in the middle for mental health. Im pretty positive its been done before but atleast i thought of it on my own and used my own heartbeat from an ekg
Thought this short will would be better not just the heart beats which are common. Tattoos I've seen are diabetic types, allergies, medical conditions. It definitely helps in an emergency
I've thought about getting "No MRI's" as I've got tons of metal in my spine & I'm terrorified no one will see the giant scar on my back before they try.
I don't know why but "and then your name is mike" fucking destroyed me, he says it like it's a medical condition. Like sir I'm so sorry it seems your name is Mike
Reminds me of something a bit unrelated, but i had a friend who recently passed away this winter just before Christmas, he got mixed up with the wrong drugs while in Vegas, stuff put him in a coma for a couple weeks, family decided to let him go when there were no signs of improvement, passed away Christmas morning, but one thing the doctors did for the parents, they recorded his heartbeat during the time he was alive and put it in one of those stuffed animals with the speaker in it, so no matter what, they could still hear when he was living
The second one would've been really cool, if the person wearing it were a Cardiologist, who was an extremely seasoned globe trotter, and the 'heart graph', was the skyline of their favorite city in the world.
I have a suspicion that the Mike tattoo wasnt a heartbeat but the oscillogram (the waves that show when recording an audio) of someone saying his name. There is a version of such that has the sharp peaks that the tattoo has.
I plan on getting my EKG tattooed when my heart condition was active (I had surgery) because I have WPW (Wolff Parkinson White) that gave me a pretty abnormal heartbeat and serious SVT episodes. It of course had a big effect on me in many ways and it’ll always be a part of who I am now.
I’ve heard of soldiers getting their information tattooed before, basically name and D.O.B on their chest in case their body is too dismembered or disfigured to identify and usually blood type in case their dog tags are too hard for the medics to read (although I think most medics use 0-)
Eventually I want a heartbeat tattoo somewhere on my, preferably somewhere around my thumb-to symbolize the fact both my parents met working in the medical field. Maybe even a replica of my dad’s Rod of Asclepius tattoo.
Remember the “Do not resuscitate” tattoo is not legally binding, it actually has caused problems to doctors who aren’t sure what to do, if you have an actual DNR order be sure to include any relevant information so the hospital can find it and respect your wishes.
The DNR one got me thinking. What if you had a visible (easily seen) tattoo stating DNR form with a QR code for a digital copy underneath it? Could save the frantic searching for paperwork and save from a lawsuit depending on how the person with said DNR is.
There was a boy in my highschool who came back from turkey at about 13/14 with his medical bracelet tattooed on him because he kept losing the actual bracelet and people thought he was drunk and didn’t realise she needed insulin.
Found out after 3 cardiac arrests at the ripe old age of 44 I have Takotsubu Cardiomyopathy, CHF, Long QT Syndrome, arrhythmia and Right Ventricular Dysplasia. I need to have my EKG tattooed like this. I signed papers yesterday, apparently I'm being studied and going into a medical journal.
I just got an EKG tattoo, I've always kind of looked at those sideways because they're largely gibberish. I pulled mine out of the Dubin book so it should be OK
Just a heads up if they have the name on it, it’s arrest in peace steel. My sister’s got the same thing she took the last 12 seconds and picked out a piece of the heart monitor to get a tattooed on herself before my brother died so we did it in remembrance of him.
Depending on local law, a DNR tattoo isn’t going to be followed. I know in my job, unless you have an active DNR order with a patient, or access to one, you resuscitate.
My husband is a paramedic and I had him have an EKG done of himself while he was thinking of me so I had a print out of what is heartbeat pattern is when he thinks about me and was going to get that tattooed, but it became so popular for people to get these tattoos that I decided against it
Some of these especially the Mike one may be the last heart beats of a loved one, some people get the heart beats of loved ones as a remembrance piece for the ones they have lost

Not to mention my hips, knees & ankles randomly causing me to test the hardness of the floor by dislocating thanks to severe Ehlers Danlos Syndrome…a genetic connective fissures disorder that worsens with agr…which is the ultimate root cause behind my BP & heart rate issues.😕😒
Mike flatlined at the end 😂
The sibling one is pretty cute.
Ohhhh, LOVE the DNR one! NO QUESTIONS NEEDED! 😂
“And then your name is Mike” lmfaoooooo🤣🤣🤣
Bro called them basic I'm dead!!! 😂😂😂
Imagine if you've changed your mind and you DO want to be resuscitated but did not get to correct the tattoo in time before the life-threatening event
If it isn't already, this should be an Ink Master episode.
Trevor’s “Cut Here” tattoo
I’d love to see more thoughts on medic alert tattoos, vs jewellery.
I got my heart rate tatted on mewhich is normal rhythm with a tachycardic rhythm in it as well as infinity sign in the middle for mental health. Im pretty positive its been done before but atleast i thought of it on my own and used my own heartbeat from an ekg
I legit thought the first one was Frank’s friend on Shameless!
getting the first one, hopefully they'll listen
Thought this short will would be better not just the heart beats which are common.
Tattoos I've seen are diabetic types, allergies, medical conditions. It definitely helps in an emergency
I've thought about getting "No MRI's" as I've got tons of metal in my spine & I'm terrorified no one will see the giant scar on my back before they try.
“6/10 for.. i don’t know, mike”
Imagine getting pulled over 3 times within like 20 minutes and thinking the cops are the problem 💀
The mike one is most likely a loved ones last heartbeats, along with a few others in the video as well
The mike tattoo's tilte says something like "confirm victory the least beat shoot sex porch"
The second one would've been really cool, if the person wearing it were a Cardiologist, who was an extremely seasoned globe trotter, and the 'heart graph', was the skyline of their favorite city in the world.
I have a rlly fast heartbeat and if I get the confidence I'll get my heartbeat tattooed
This is why I checked MANY TIMES to make sure my heartbeat tattoo design was accurate before getting it 😂
As you were talking I was starting to consider a regular heartbeat over the heart, but clearly that’s a little basic as well
That DNR needs a DRS signature! LOL
My grandmother has one tattoo and it's my aunt's last heartbeat. 35 years later it looks kinda wonky but it still means the same thing
I have a suspicion that the Mike tattoo wasnt a heartbeat but the oscillogram (the waves that show when recording an audio) of someone saying his name. There is a version of such that has the sharp peaks that the tattoo has.
I feel like the Mike one was supposed to be her heart fluttering when she thinks about him
“6 out of 10 for idk.. Mike” 😂
The first guy got it as a joke while drunk
I plan on getting my EKG tattooed when my heart condition was active (I had surgery) because I have WPW (Wolff Parkinson White) that gave me a pretty abnormal heartbeat and serious SVT episodes. It of course had a big effect on me in many ways and it’ll always be a part of who I am now.
That third one looks like someones heartbeat who passed away
I’ve heard of soldiers getting their information tattooed before, basically name and D.O.B on their chest in case their body is too dismembered or disfigured to identify and usually blood type in case their dog tags are too hard for the medics to read (although I think most medics use 0-)
The DNR one isn't legally binding they will still resuscitate
"Some thing...with a bunch of flutters"...that's artifact!
There was a boy in my highschool who came back from turkey at about 13/14 with his medical bracelet tattooed on him because he kept losing the actual bracelet and people thought he was drunk and didn’t realise she needed insulin.
3 out of 10 for the do not resuscitate since it can’t actually be used, but is pretty funny
The last one reminds me of rhythm doctor
Why does his heart skip a beat when he sees his sister
I feel like Mike had EKG artifact tattooed on himself. 😂
The air plane one just made me think of 9/11
Fun fact, a tattoo is not a legal DNR. Until paperwork is sighted, doctors by law have to perform life saving measures.
Need to get me a "do not resuscitate" tattoo
The one with the Mike name symbolizes someone’s last heartbeats before they passed away and their name is st the end to show who passed away
"Can't ID this patient!" *puts ear to chest* "---mike---mike---mike---"
Found out after 3 cardiac arrests at the ripe old age of 44 I have Takotsubu Cardiomyopathy, CHF, Long QT Syndrome, arrhythmia and Right Ventricular Dysplasia. I need to have my EKG tattooed like this. I signed papers yesterday, apparently I'm being studied and going into a medical journal.
A DNR tattoo isn't valid in all states (unsure outside of the US), so make sure you check before getting one!
ill get “if im gonna die please let me do so”
I would believe that was Mike's heart rate right before he flatlines
Those look more like my stock portfolio than a medical tattoo.
Ooo do me next!!!
my friend has a "please stab here" tattoo for their epipen. the last EMT still missed it COMPLETELY but he wasn't very... good at his job.
I believe that the Mike one is a sound wave
Thats 3rd one looks more like he's tracking his stock earnings.
bicep tattoo but instead of barbed wire its a normal lead II
OR
tattoo sleeve of every common lead II rhythm and morphology
Lead II? Pffft. I’m getting a V4.
