Here's the story behind this video: as I was mentioning I didn't want to upload these rides at first. I simply thought neither the riding nor the road which can be seen would be worth the hassle of writing and inserting text captions for a couple of hours. Then I thought of some of you guys who seem to like the old CB500 as much as I do. Then I thought it would be unfair to keep these short clips to myself just because I feel they're not worthy enough for my channel. A compromise was needed and quickly found: I'll just skip the captions and let you guys decide whether you would also enjoy watching RAWs without my input. So I just color-corrected them and quickly turned the single clips into one video.
Don't worry. My usual RAW videos won't change. But if you guys are okay with 'lesser dedicated RAW videos' appearing on my channel occasionally let me know. So in the future I won't just dump video rides like the one you're watching right now!

Legend says, when Schaaf rides, the footpegs create more sparks than the spark plugs themselves :D

That moment when you recognize a road from your own videos in a Schaaf video. That second raw video was one of my first contacts with Austrian Twisties...the thing that didn't twist that much in my case was the throttle...haaaah

You guys are lucky down in Austria; every time I went somewhere I just told my navigation to avoid highways and every road it got me on was motorcycling gold, including the one in the video
I still enjoy lesser dedicated RAW videos'. One off the reason your are one off my favorite motovlogger, are you video are alot simple then others youtuber, but with sweet roads, nice riding, awesome video quality. After every video i wanna go ride. So i hate you a little bit now, need the spring to come fast ;)

Loook at this guy; every bend is taken perfectly. I try this the best I can - me too on a CB500 - at muuuch a lower speed. But here one understands why this a sooo important to prepare everything with the line while in speed. Thanks for demo, dear Schaaf.

I see this so clear in your vid, Schaaf, even if I think you might be just a bit hot on the throttle now and then ha ha ha 😆
Loved it. If you are happy to put it out raw then i'm more than happy to watch. As for 5:27 fuel starvation? but it's a strange one!. I really appreciate the massive amount of work that you normally put into your videos and it shows when you watch them but the occasional "Stick it out as it is" is cool as it is truly "raw". As Always Ride And Speed Safe.

Schaaf ja bitte.. ich bin Italiener und freut mich auch sehr dass du die Italienische Straße so viele liebst... ich komme aus SüdItalien und ich denke dass viellicht solltest du einmal es probieren. Ich wohne in die Amalfi küste und da die Straße sind genug kleine und die Landschaft ist schön... wenn du kommst es würde sehr schön 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow!! Die Amalfi Küste muss wunderschön sein!! Keine Sorge, ich werde eines Tages definitiv bis zum Ende des italienischen Stiefels fahren!! Es dauert leider noch eine Weile, bis ich mir eine solche Reise auch leisten kann :)

Hey, Schaaf, have you ever thought about putting the half-fairing from a CB500S onto the little Honda? If not, why?
absolutely not. I don't feel the need for more wind protection on a bike as slow as the CB500!
Even in colder weather? I love naked bikes, but I'd hate to not have my 500's half-fairing when I'm travelling. Wind can tire you out after a while.

Ich wollte mal fragen wie viele Km du selbst mit dieser Cb gefahren bist und wieviele Kilometer sie gesamt hat. Wieso benutzt du für die Raw aufnahmen die 3er Gopro, dachte du hättest auch schon die 5er (Review)?
ca. 50.000km / weil ich im August 2016 noch keine 5er Hero hatte. Und weil die 3+ auch 1080p/50 kann.

wie läuft das eig mit deinem hang off? :) knie schon am schleifen? Bin gestern mal flott mit meiner “neuen“ cb gefahren und hat echt mega fun gemacht nur sind die metzeler lasertec vom vorbesitzer leider eckig gefahren werde dann auch auf die bt45 tauschen nächstes jahr :) welchen luftdruck fährst du?
2.5 / 2.8bar - Hab zwei Tage gebraucht, dann war das Knie unten. Ist mit meinen langen Beinen aber auch extrem leicht
Ok den Druck fahr ich auch... Bin auch 1.83 groß und die cb ist zum Glück schön klein :P freu mich schon auf Sommer im winter riskier ich lieber nichts :)

Am și eu o Honda cb 500 R DIN 1995 ! Cumpărată în 2008 și am circulat cu ea 109000 km ! Din 2008 nu am făcut decât o sincronizare a carburatoarelor
am schimbat cuiele ponton și acum am schimbat ambreiajul cu arcuri cu tot ! Dacă schimbi uleiul la maxim 5000 km o ai mult timp ! Ai grija ca o sa îți cedeze : CUIELE PONTOU ,SI ROBINETUL DE BENZINĂ CA ARE O MEMBRANA DIN CAUCIUC CARE SE VA SPARGE ! TREBUIE SA LE SCHIMBI OBLIGATORIU ACESTE DOUA : CUIELE PONTOU SI ROBINETUL DE BENZINĂ !

Da bin ich ein bissel drüber. 😉 In 5 Jahren ca. 96.000 km, davon alleine 30K km (in einem Jahr!) mit meiner Honda NC. 👈👍😎👌
+Opiatel nein hatte ich nicht. Aber Tipp habe ich einen für dich: immer schön langsam angehen und nicht stressen lassen. Ich bin nur so souverän geworden, weil ich mich ab einem gewissen Punkt nicht mehr hab hetzen lassen. Und dann kam das Selbstvertrauen ganz von selbst und mit der Zeit.
+Petrolhead79 ich kapier ehrlich gesagt auch nicht ganz, wieso viele Leute meinen, ich würde viel fahren. Wenn man sich mal ansieht, wie viele Videos ich pro Jahr raushauen kann, dann müsste eig. schnell klar werden, dass ich nicht öfters als ein paar Tage im Jahr auf Tour bin :)

5:27 hitting both brakes due of the excessive speed before the turn - 130 km/h to 80km/h. Check his finger, right hand
totally didnt notice that, also cause i would never expect from someone to hit the front brake while in a corner. jeebus.
+Cat Caturday don't listen, he's judging without knowing. My speed for the corner was very right, I've been through this corner with just this kind of speed many times before. But then it seemed I hit a false neutral in between gears. Which immediately had me pull the ABORT! ABORT! move. I pulled the clutch and started breaking because I shortly got confused and subconsciously switched my priorities to just keeping it inside my own lane. Worked rather well, therefore I'm not worried. But this whole maneuver was caused by the gearbox confusing me at a rather inconvenient time
Alright the false neutral makes much more sense considering the engine "death like sound" in that fragment of time, yet again thou shall not change gear so late and or in a corner!

Yeah..OK, we see from the camera that you rode the old bike flat-out... very good...what exactly is the point of this...are we supposed to be impressed with the bike or the rider...anyone can open the throttle on a bike..but she is not built for that..there are plenty of bikes more suited to this type of riding...in my opinion that is not the way to treat that bike...get an kawasaki AR80...and record it screaming flat out...leave the old bird alone ...or take it easy....Just saying..
The point was to have fun which I had a ton of. No idea what else you expect from a motorcycle onboard video. Weird
