Doc is gross.
He was cleared of any wrong doing by the cops, a judge, the ncme and Twitch themselves. So he is innocent of the allegations Cody levied. Accusations that only came around because Cody needed to sell more tickets to his show, mind you. Even more wild is that Cody can't prove the allegations neither. So really setting himself up to be homeless in the next year or two.
Doc either needs to reveal the messages or sue Cody for defamation/Libel and win. Any other action and I believe Cody and the allegations. If what they said was blatantly and provably untrue, Dr. D has an airtight case in court and should sue Twitch, Cody, and any media that repeated the lies as his financial damages are readily apparent for all to see. Now the only thing that matters is: are the allegations true or not? If Doc doesn't want to prove it out in public there is really only one reason for that and that would be that the allegations are true or they aren't technically true, but everyone would judge him anyways because the convos were "bad enough" for most people to write him off as a POS. Oh and his rebuttal to "convo with a minor" is "she was above the age of consent in the jurisdiction she lived in." This explanation does not disprove that he was talking to a minor or not, the age of consent is below 18 in most states and you are pretty much always a minor until you are 18. If anything all he did was confirm he had these conversations with a minor, now the only question is... "were they are bad as reported?" So Doc, balls in your court, but it seems like he is just going to try to literally "play it off."
I 100% agree with the defamation lawsuit, I would have to assume that as long as what he is stating is correct, that’s the next step
Dr disrespect got paid out of his entire twitch contract, when they terminated him, because there was no case against him (hence twitch paying him out)... Additionally, if you pay attention to what doc said, in the first 5 minutes of this video, other than mentioning Cody's name, he states 'I can't say much due to legal procedures' (or, at least, something along those lines)... That implies doctors going after Cody for defamation.
The fact twitch paid doc out of his twitch contract means he's already, technically, won his defamation case against Cody.
What I find extremely clever, here, is that docs public post (regarding this matter a few months ago) he deliberately called the person a minor himself. He did this to increase the impact in which Cody's "leak" would have. That was a money play, as he hinted at a few times in this video, because the more "damaging" the fall out, from Cody's claims, the bigger the pay out the doc will receive - he simply fanned the flames in his favour knowing this...
I hope it does go to court because, if it does, everyone will learn the tyre extent of this fiasco.
@@nitram2.049 um what you see as clever is extremely risky. That lets possible defendants say they were just repeating what Doc said and thus the reputation and monetary damage was done by Doc himself. Now they would have had to go well beyond what doc said to catch the blame. And no, twitch paying out a contract doesn’t mean “he’s won the defamation case”. That lawsuit hasn’t even been filed as far as we know.

Sorry for such late reply i respect merlin for how he handled this video to many youtubers are already taking sides merlin handled this react very good he looked at the facts massive respect merlin. I am a person who before watching merlin was a dr. Disrespect fan i became a great sniper in cod because of his gameplay lol but when these leaks came out i was devastated about the two times accusations so i watched this live stream and this is what i found
1. Doc has admitted he never sexted anyone and also stated he basically led journalists to believe these allegations. 2. He stated he never met or intended to met said person he allegedly was sexting and makes it clear he never intended to met the person. 3. The courts/government and twitch themselves stated there was no evidence of or intended sexting stated by doc. 4. The safety teams lied and the head of the team was on vacation and still ended up acknowledged that nothing illegal was going on and that they took messages out of context which he is right you can take any message out of context and make it inappropriate. 5. This was important for me it seems doc was very and i mean very well aware, stated his case to us with smart and good speech most ppl that lie stutter, or make up something that just doesn't sound believable even the greatest liar will be exposed once you look into what they state/say doc was telling us the full disclosure while also disclosing his future plans i think there will be a law suit he playing it smart thou anyway thank you guys for letting me speak and merlin thank you for your live streaming while docs been away i will continue to support you and the channel amigo
Lol this is just confirmation bias, you want to believe him so badly and it shows. Sorry but objectively Doc provided no actual evidence of anything, he brought zero receipts, only claims. I will never trust claims without receipts and you shouldn't either. Doc had 2 months to rehearse his return stream, and it seemed well rehearsed. He plays a character for a living, you are not seeing reality. So yeah, either he's lying or the leakers are lying. The great part is, there are legal protections for people who lose money because someone lied publicly about them. The legal protections only work if they are lying though. So there is the rub, Doc lost a LOT of money. If he doesn't try to legally recoup that money by clearing his name, you can guarantee the allegations are true.
And this is why we don't voice opinions about this kinda stuff until the truth reveals. Ggs
