Considering that he's british, the build may have instead been trying to emulate the UKSF L119A1 configuration from Colt Canada used by SAS/SBS/SFSG in the 2000s and still used by Royal Marine Commandos until very recently. Also of note are in the movie he is using offset magpul iron sights, and an Eotech 551.
OMG what a brilliant video! And living in New Jersey I can't go around shooting guns as much as I'd like, but I play the MK18 MOD 0 as my primary when I play Ready or Not with my kids! This video was EXTREMELY relevant to my interests!
What they should have done for the movie is attach a grenade launcher where your sights go, slap an eotech on it to use as a vertical foregrip, and then a few more angled BUIS on both sides.
I have a Mk.18 mod 1 that i built up out of an Daniel Defense mk18, great gun out of the box, gets you 80% of the way there. mine's wearing two stamps, SBR and the can. my favorite rifle. friendly advice; the short barrel means the dwell time is too short to reliably cycle the weapon, so the gas port is wider than normal resulting in more gasses being pumped into the system, add a suppressor to that and you've exacerbated the issue to the point you can feel the gasses and powder peppering your face everytime you fire. I'd recommend swapping out the charging handle and bolt carrier group to something that'll help redirect the gas away from your face. for the charging handle i use the radian raptor slim SD, it has vent to push the gases away from your face and my BCG is a LMT that's ported to push gas down out the mag well both mods result in the gasses being pushed out into the mag well (and therefore into the magazines) but it beats peppering your face.
@@TheTrueNorth11 at first it was, it was pretty bad. but once you make the modifications I mentioned above it's a non-issue, problem solved. Runs reliably and no more gass
Love your content, looking forward to your book! Question, are we sure bond didn’t use a L119A1, it is essentially a UK MOD Mk18 but has a 10” barrel and was issued only to SBS/SAS, the still shots seemed to show his suppressor snugged up against the FSP like the old SF-212 cans used to.

Sounds terrible.

don't always have the thing you want/ a 10.5 M4 is a waste of gunpowder
The amount of dress-up you play is off-putting, but Bond is cool. So fair play.
