I honestly applaud your dedication and overall success in this run, man, this fight is so annoying in regular critical with Riku and mickey being glorified rocks that it becomes frustrating...nonetheless you made it level 1 with all these restrictions...truly remarkable
The fight is annoying, but I can guarantee that it is probably one of my favorites in this game. The Xehanorts teaming up makes it amazing, the 4 versions of Xehanort coming together to take down Sora Riku and Mickey
The Ultima Keyblade is still the best one, because Final Form ftw. I wonder if you can redo this fight, only alone and have Xehanort join in with the X-Blade.
Regular enemies are actually more difficult than the bosses strangely. I died at least 10 times on the first set of enemies however. That being said, the heartless cloud in twilight town is a bitch to do. That map was not made for boss fights.

Because seriously, it really, REALLY loves flying outside your reach and then after the first hit turns invulnerable and proceeds to kick your ass. Whereas Twilight Town had a ton of buildings you could use to get up to its level, and it can't go very high.
The amount of times I died on critical during this FUCKING fight was insane. I just beat it and this video helped a lot learning the pattern. Thanks man!!

You are a god. I died more than a hundred times in critical mode to this one boss fight (I didn’t even die more than 3 times to goat or x blade xehanort) and it was all for the Oblivion. The Oblivion is my all time favorite canon Keyblade so I toiled for it. I was always more of a first person shooter player but I did what I could.
The dude is literally the most annoying when he’s the last boss. I still haven’t found a way to walk away unscathed from him surrounding you with those ethereal orbs in the keybladenado
I only JUST finished my playthrough of Critical Lvl. 1, and I honestly don't think I would've made it through without the Star Medals that give Once More (I refuse to call it by its KHIII name) and Second Chance, and the cutscene checkpoints. I had to actually LEARN their moves in my playthrough because regular Proud was way too forgiving. All that to say, bravo.
@@VentusK Yeah. You get them for A-ranking the some of the minigame worlds, and they have set abilities you can get out of them. One you can get from Frozen Slider is Once More (Withstand Combo), and one you can get from Flash Tracer A (the one that starts on the bridge in San Fransokyo) is Second Chance.

jovars Yeah I did and sorry I guess I shouldn’t say strict but every time they all disappear and reaper they always open back up with the same moves. Or when Xehanort starts attacking you with the keys they all repeat the same moves. As soon as I took down one of the three and made sure to keep my allies alive things became much easier. And yeah I can see how getting 1-2 shot could be pretty outrageous but I got saved a lot by the Star Medal that has withstand combo built in. DC Universe I'd hardly call that an inconsistency. From a mechanical standpoint it makes sense that you can't block EVERY attack with Guard, you couldn't Guard against everything in KH2, so I guess by your logic Guard is inconsistent in every KH game simply because not every attack (even in the case of similar attack types) can be guarded, and even if they can (KH1), they can't be guarded efficiently. For those Marluxia attacks you just dodge instead of block, ez pz. Part of the learning curve of KH is learning when to block and when to dodge. You shouldn't expect to be able to Guard everything and you shouldn't expect dodging to always be more optimal than blocking. I can think of maybe ONE attack Marluxia can do that can't be guarded consistently, but its more likely to be an issue with the way his hitboxes work than with the way Guard works. And you can just avoid it with high jump + double flight + glide anyway, so its not like its a major issue that this one attack can't be guarded consistently. Plus, if you could just use normal guard for everything then there would be no utilitarian reason to use Countershield/Frying Pan aside from increased DPS due to their unique and incredibly powerful reprisal commands.
@YANDEL ARIAS I've never failed to block Marluxia's attacks on the ground, so there isn't much merit or truth to your argument. An attack being designed to be blocked in a certain way, and not being blockable in the other way, is not an "inconsistency" or "jankness". Plus, the Guard in this game has less active frames compared to KH2 (which is why KH2's guard was so forgiving, too many active frames). Sure, they could have made Marluxia's attacks guardable in the air, but even though they didn't design it that way its fine as is. Besides, many of his attacks are meant to be dodged, not blocked. :|

Interesting strat, taking an intentional death after beating YX so you can equip a different Reprisal. I'll have to use that when I do my own Level 1 run of the game.
This was easily the hardest portion of Lv.1 crit by far even more so than the final boss. It’s absolute hell having to keep track of multiple enemies especially if all your teammates are downed.
This is awesome O.o I am so bad at this fight and I don't even challenge myself by staying on level 1, or by not allowing Magic or Cuisine or anything! You make it look so easy, it actually kind of makes me want to try again x) On my Critical playthrough I just ragequit and used the Ultima Shotlocks ^^' but I saved just before it in case I wanted to play this fight again!
This fight is making me go insane on my level 1 proud playtrough , every hit makes you lose 99% of your hp, not having withstand combo makes this living hell
Well, Ansem’s World of Chaos is from his Guardian, which was lost from Terra coming back, so he couldn’t use it even if he wanted to. As for Xemnas, you got me there.
I am also kinda disappointed (but not much) that young Xehanort doesn’t have THAT clock. (But then again I think that’s because they knew everyone hated that move in dream drop distance. Also for I was the dev team I and a added that in I would make it be able to restore health to the other 2)
Well, to my knowledge, World of Chaos is actually originally a separate Heartless or an amalgamation of Heartless that Ansem fused with in the abyss at the end of KH1, so it's not like he can just transform into it whenever and wherever he wants. As for Xemnas, all those crazy forms he took at the end of KH2 were made using the power of Kingdom Hearts, and Xemnas even had to create his own pocket dimension called The World of Nothing in order to create all of that. So, neither Ansem nor Xemnas had the resources or powers available to them in this fight to bring either of their super-forms into being.
I was so shocked that this was the second to last boss. I thought there was at least 6 more boss fights or something after the maze part but no, this and then the final boss.

I feel like you party members shouldn't die in a 3v3 like riku during final xemnas in kh2 and maybe if you kill one of the bosses than one your party members can be downed and two bosses killed two party members can be downed.

I have to ask, why do you limit yourself like this? I understand summons, attractions and food, but why not use shotlocks and magic? It's like playing KH2 LV1 no accessories, kingdom key, no magic, no drive forms nor reaction commands except those necessary to progress. Honestly it seems unnecessary all those limitations who just make the run not fun to play.
Makes the game not fun to play, eh? Come back once you've mastered a game, any game, to the point where playing it casually gets boring. Then you'll understand the beauty of a challenge run.
Xemnas solo is almost as bad as Mysterious Figure. He's invincible for 95% of the fight and avoiding his attacks is random luck. The Data battle is a complete joke compared to this fight. At least blocking works in the data battle.
You died once, technically you took dmg. I can tell because, after you beated young Xehanort and then you came back to fight xemnas and Ansem. Xemnas gave you a defeat quote and they both had full bars. Nice try buddy. But good gameplay. Big props
I wish i watched this video before attempting this fight on level 1 crit, i tried to do it without items and had to learn on my own that the game punishes you significantly for allowing your allies to stay dead.
why is it after you defeat young xehanort the other health is reset, but after killing xemnas, ansem's health stays the same? I think you died during this and acted like you did not, as dying resets the health of the enemies in these fights
Anyone who knows how these fights work can clearly see I didn't do the second phase in a row and I never claimed to. I even mentioned what I did in the description
I tried making a level 1 save myself, i like being a glass cannon. But i don't like being a glass spoon, which is pretty much what you are in this title. I mean your video of taking down Skoll is almost 15 minutes. That's not fun to me, that's just boring. And to me, videogames are mostly about entertainment, not just purely overcoming challenges.
The point is continuing under all that stress and time to be just as good as you were 5 seconds ago again and again until you beat a boss that could flick you to death.
@@frolofolo2349 I'm currently at this fight in lvl 1 crit run and honestly that's how it seems, especially in these last fights. You make a single mistake and the boss is like, "Oh hi there let me breathe on you real quick" and your dead. It's extremely satisfying to win.

Yeah you have to actually memorize enemy attack patterns and coordinate your attacks accordingly

Orchestrafanboy19 Xemnas’ dragon is mainly formed by the Castle in the Nobody world, I think. Too much hassle to get that off world.

Know what im sorta thinking. Xehanorts 3 here show his life young strong wanting to win. Then slowly turning into a more lethal less strategic fighter
I was so shocked that this was the second to last boss. I thought there was at least 6 more boss fights or something after the maze part but no, this and then the final boss.
Is is wrong for me to think that the Tower of Endings (the boss arena) would be a great stage in Smash Bros Ultimate? Or would the Twilight Town clock tower be a choice? Stage ideas?
How many retries did it take before you finally have to add mega potion to the routine? I barely touched mega potions in this game so i thought it was interesting
For critical mode, you just need Hi Potions.

How man!? Seriously, How!!? I'm doing a level one run and I'm stuck here. There is only one other video I can find on TH-cam of a lvl 1 run and they use items, ultimate weapon and magic spam. I'm having a hell of a time getting even one of the zorts before being destroyed

Do you mind explaining what you're doing with the shot lock jumps? I'm trying to get better at crit runs and this fight was an absolute fever dream the first time around. It looks like Sora like, does a flip without doing any damage? Are you just getting close to avoid ranged attacks and getting some I-frames?

I feel like you party members shouldn't die in a 3v3 like riku during final xemnas in kh2 and maybe if you kill one of the bosses than one your party members can be downed and two bosses killed two party members can be downed.
Riku can get knocked down against Xemnas in KH2.

I have to ask, why do you limit yourself like this? I understand summons, attractions and food, but why not use shotlocks and magic? It's like playing KH2 LV1 no accessories, kingdom key, no magic, no drive forms nor reaction commands except those necessary to progress. Honestly it seems unnecessary all those limitations who just make the run not fun to play.
Also they should really boost the defense of Mickey and Riku. Just so that they don't die in 10 seconds.

Xemnas solo is almost as bad as Mysterious Figure. He's invincible for 95% of the fight and avoiding his attacks is random luck. The Data battle is a complete joke compared to this fight. At least blocking works in the data battle.

You died once, technically you took dmg. I can tell because, after you beated young Xehanort and then you came back to fight xemnas and Ansem. Xemnas gave you a defeat quote and they both had full bars. Nice try buddy. But good gameplay. Big props
I wish i watched this video before attempting this fight on level 1 crit, i tried to do it without items and had to learn on my own that the game punishes you significantly for allowing your allies to stay dead.
why is it after you defeat young xehanort the other health is reset, but after killing xemnas, ansem's health stays the same? I think you died during this and acted like you did not, as dying resets the health of the enemies in these fights

I tried making a level 1 save myself, i like being a glass cannon.
But i don't like being a glass spoon, which is pretty much what you are in this title.
I mean your video of taking down Skoll is almost 15 minutes.
That's not fun to me, that's just boring.
And to me, videogames are mostly about entertainment, not just purely overcoming challenges.
The point is continuing under all that stress and time to be just as good as you were 5 seconds ago again and again until you beat a boss that could flick you to death.
@@frolofolo2349 I'm currently at this fight in lvl 1 crit run and honestly that's how it seems, especially in these last fights. You make a single mistake and the boss is like, "Oh hi there let me breathe on you real quick" and your dead. It's extremely satisfying to win.
