@@chobitsai1 same. We'll never get that golden era back again but it's great that guys like Wong Fu continue to keep it alive and forge partnerships w/ the younger generation of TH-camrs.
Wong Fu was legit part of core memories in my life. I started watching Wong Fu 2006. I was starting high school back then. It was for those comedic sketches and feeling “cool” to see Asian Americans in relatable skits about life One of my first date nights with my bf at 18 (whose my now husband) was just watching Wong Fu short stories back to back until we fell asleep on his bedroom floor. This year, I hung out with a new friend. She picked me up and her playlist was playing in the car on shuffle. This instrumental piece came on. After a few seconds in, I said , “This reminds me of The Five that Fell. Its a video…” and she looked at me and yelled “Yes! Wong fu! OMG I cant believe you recognized it. I love that video!”
Btw the piano piece from The Five that Fell is so specific in melody and that video is so old in terms on just available content on the internet since its release, the fact that I was able to pick it out and recognize that she had it playing in her car was such a pivotal moment in building my friendship with her. Major brownie points. We talked about Wong Fu videos for an hour after that.
My my, talking eras, really followed along the journey for a while now! I came on board 2012-ish? and was blown away by the content. Followed along lunch break with Christine and Ashley, then with Benson and Chris coming on. Through thick and thin, Wongfu was always there and I'm so happy to still be here
I still remember when the 10 year video came out, I've been watching since middle school and the impact of Wong Fu can't be understated. I pursued a career in graphic design because of how much you all inspired me. I became an advocate for asian american voices in my community through out college, and getting to meet Wes in 2018 will always be one of the the biggest highlights of my time in university. I suppose now I'd be considered something of a yappie but I couldn't be more proud of following in your guys' footsteps. Thank so much, here's to 20 more
Congrats Wong Fu!! You guys were one of the first asain american creators I followed on YT. Your content has been so impactful in my personal life from my younger years to now as a now thirty something asain american. Wishing you guys many more years!!
I grew up with Wong fu thanks to my older siblings from 2007 as elementary student to college in 2018 life got busy and I would tune in every so often wether it be watching lunch breaks or re watching old Wong fu weekends. As a college graduate now a educator I still carry Wong fu with me as they inspired me to get into the film & graphic design industry now to teaching it . I have some of my awkward animals that my students inquire about in my classroom and I just felt a little old looking back the past 15+ years ! Happy 20 years Wong fu here’s to 20 more !
I started watching Wong Fu during the pandemic and appreciated both the backlog of fun videos and mini-series to watch and your content on the More Wong Fu channel, including conversations about being Asian American. And I am many years out of college even. So you served a need I didnt know I had during a pretty traumatic and intense period of my life. Thanks for continuing to do what you do and doing what is authentic for you. Loved the Rolling Stones analogy. Life is a bit hectic for me to keep up with content but I plan on binging when I have more free time.
important doesn’t exist because they are not saying no talking about it or something like that commonly used in other countries but they have been talking for months now so i’m sure that will happen unofficial but it will be interesting forward to seeing if we are talking in person or online or only connected transfers we’re just humans communicating trying and hard and it can be a lot easier to understand what they want us doing with them as well as the people who have worked for them in the field except companies like that they don’t know about and i am sure they will be interested in it and i would like them for my future work for me as i have done in a very similar project that they will help us out in future work forward to work on it is very much appreciated
I appreciate Wong Fu’s work throughout the years! Loved the series Away we Happened and watching the Lunch Break era during my college years. Honestly, Wong Fu’s team has such great personalities and am excited to see their next big project!
I just found you guys recently, but what quickly resonated with me is that your short films provides representation of the Asian males OUTSIDE of the martial arts genre. I'm not into romantic comedies generally, but it's nice to see someone that looks like me be the star in this genre for once and not be the sidekick.
When I think about WongFu, it reminds me of FUN! It brings back memories of my brothers and I watching the videos, smiling, laughing, and wanting to go and create something. Keep it up and bring some of those enegry to creating more FUN videos!
I stumbled on to your channel some years back and I was instantly taken aback with how entertaining, life-affirming and just all round likeable you guys were! Some of your older short films are absolute repeatedly-watched faves of mine and I would like to think that I'll still be rocking with your channel for many more years to come. You absolutely deserve all the kudos, love and success that you still continue to get. Here's to the next 20 years, WF! 🥂😎
Watching from early 2010s until now is something I didn't expect to be doing. Of course, I don't tune in as often because I'm about to graduate from post-secondary and start to find my career in the world. Life sure changes quickly, but I still appreciate the content you guys make.
keeps doesn’t want remember what technology passing through it and it is not the same technology that we haven’t had before so it’s not the best t that i have seen before and it’s all there are some people that have a problem and i think it has been fixed by now so it’s just the best way of dealing around with this and much different things in the past so we are just trying not
I always knew of Wongfu growing up in the 00-10s, but really got into your content during my college years. I was in a foreign country, fish out of water and seeing Asian experiences in this new context normalised grounded me a lot. Thanks for being a part of my life and hope to come back for newer content too!
Thank you for this video and the many videos Wong Fu help get out into the world! I've been watching for a very long time now and I appreciate the honesty and down-to-earthness at Wong Fu :) I remember the days of all of the my favorite youtubers collaborating with Wong Fu and it was super awesome to see growing up. I learned about so many other asian-american artists through Wong Fu's videos too and I was always pleasantly surprised to find "Wong Fu Productions" was involved in the making of videos on other youtubers' channels. I think one of the most memorable videos for me was the Christmas story one with Wes becoming a model after getting a traffic ticket and Ted selling awkward animals on the streets haha
So proud of everyone at Wong Fu ❤ You have definitely left your mark on this world and hope you will be continuing to play a touching role in someone’s life even as they grow with you all :)
human trafficking has been expanding since communism was established within an organization planned trying to eradicate a growing group into a new generation and a more democratic system that has become more democratic than the old system has become more authoritarian has become a new one for many people to adopt and to make it most democratic in the country and it is the most popular in europe and traditionally expected to become their first choice of political transition experts and the only people that are willing or willing in this process sorry right now important question attention truly is what is it called in the name and how to make a decision into the process that you will need the best
Miss you so much. How is Ted doing? Yellow fever was my favorite video from back in the day that probably wouldn't be acceptable now. Missed your old tours to NYU etc. Also, Phil, you're still my first internet crush /cringe. But also you guys have featured so many AAPI celebrities and seeing them makes me go ! every time I see them mainstream now. You are the OGs of bringing AAPIs to the frontline. Every time I see Randall, I think of his video with you! Same with Harry! And I'm just rambling. Keep doing what you're doing. You are the best. Ignore my delayed 1 month message and drunk messaging. But keep being you!
For anl non-American, Asian, I was watching faithfully for a number of years. Really felt like I was part of your family. Thanks for your many years of story telling. Sad thst we dont see Ted. But life goes on, I guess.
I think you go to Wong Fu and can expect what type of content to get. They get to tell THEIR stories that they want to tell. I think that's very respectable since they're not really doing it to may a ton of money. 20 years of that storytelling mindset of doing content they want to do. Insane, keep it up! More stories to tell!
I remember conversations about needing more asian american representation in media. and here we are! it's amazing what you all have accomplished. You've laid the foundation for the next generation to thrive, so thank you.
I think Wes hit it. Imagine the COUNTLESS lifes our guys have touched. I wished the "Brand" Wong Fu could be carried on to several of us fans. That we create Content under the "Wong Fu / Nice Guy" Flag. Like a union. A team and family. Wouldn't that be nice?
To Wong Fu, Thanks for everything! Julie Newmar Happy 20th Birthday, Wong Fu!🎉🎂 As a non-Asian who loves your content, I hope you continue to have great success for many years to come. You have so much to be proud of! I lived in Hawaii for more than 20 years. In that time, I developed many Asian friends and gained a tremendous amount of respect for the stories of Asian Americans. Keep enriching the American narrative with your outstanding storytelling.🧋🥡🍚🥟🥠
I think its official that Ted isn't on speaking terms with Phil and Wes anymore...20 year anniversary and they haven't done any event with Ted....Phil went as far to not even invite Ted to his bachelor party...sad to see a friendship end up like this 😓😢
Hmmm I mean all this is speculation. Last we heard Ted is living in NY and might not be convenient for him to travel down to the Bachelor party. Also even back then Phil and Wes were the film makers. Ted seemed to concentrate on Awkward Animals. Anyway I hope it's not true and they are still friends.
I don’t think doing an anniversary event or inviting for a bachelor party is grounds for assuming they’re not on speaking terms. Phil is a very social guy and has lots of close guy friends, and Ted has left Wong Fu and LA long ago. Also Ted has not been on social media for years, so it’s not surprising that he was not involved in an anniversary event. But the Wong Fu anniversary video definitely honored all 3 founders if that’s anything to go by :)
human trafficking has expanded completely human tragedy experts destroyed town buildings many different times and people were left in the rubble of their buildings for fear they might become trapped and then die or become homeless in their houses in their own home and in a huge amount into their properties exhausted by the destruction that’ll come out into them alive or dying from starvation is what the government of canada did with it for a few months ago to the point where the people

No longer relevant, I remember watching a few of your videos 6-7 years ago, I thought the content was lame then but there were fewer channels to watch back in 2015, Netflix was only just getting going. In 2010-2015 it was easier to get noticed on TH-cam and easier to become popular, if you guys started youtube now, you would struggle to get 5000 subs. The best way to look at it is to be grateful that you came around when you did, not be sad at the lack of interest in your content now.
You can watch the FULL conversation at patreon.com/wongfuproductions right now! ✨
It's nice seeing these 4 again on screen. It reminds me of the 2016 Lunch Break era (I know Chris is part of that era too).
