Close up really broke my heart, and his life only make my cry, I really wish he could made his dream true despite his social class and limitatons. Wishing he's okay.
It’s so crazy that this man did what he did for his love of cinema and for the arts....ended up starring one of the greatest pieces of cinema. Allah Yarhamo ❤️❤️❤️
@@pramitpratimdas8198 I guess we have different perspectives. From what I gathered escapism was at least partially his motivation. Especially in the court scene when he describes his real life living in poverty, impersonating Makhmalbaf allowed him to escape reality and live in his fantasy of being a famous director.
You could say that since he admits that he enjoyed the respect and admiration the ahankhan's had for him when told them he was the famous director but also he wanted to have food and a place to sleep.
A life devoted to cinema, his family broke up for it, he spend every money he get to the cinema and died on the way to talk about cinema with Kiarostami.
i couldnt finish the film. it just made me so sad. i really wish someone couldve helped him in his goals to pursue a career in film/art, however that might be. man.
He is a stalker. He sees the true beauty and is faithful to what he's seeing and feels. Bearing the heavy burden that comes with a vast inner depth, he continues to have faith despite everything.

It's an amazing file but moreover it's not love of cinema that motivated him it was the need for respect.
@@ashuupadhyay9255 he certainly got my respect!
@@Skheezer I guess that's what he needed.
He seems like a man who became addicted to escapism. I think lot of people can relate to what he says here.
Don't know if you watched Close-up but it didn't seem like escapism

Thanks Abbas for making a movie about this man.
Beautiful and heart-breaking at the same time and in equal measure.

A thoughtful man with deep artistic feelings. Bravo!
حب عظيم للسينما من هذا الرجل ومصادفته مع المخرج الراحل عباس كيارستمي كان شيء رائع .❤

Lo quiero mucho señor Sabzian
He's got a streak of white hair just like the characters in Tarkovsky's Solaris, Stalker, and Nostalghia
I wish you also said Holden Caulfield
such a beautiful reference

Is this scene not in the movie?
Is this scene in the movie ? Because I haven’t seen it 😣
No, this was an interview. Criterion had it together as an extra feature in the film's release.
Asala, the scene is part this documentary:
