Another good tip is to check you can read the tag before implanting it. My cat has a similar tag for ID and also to allow her to use her cat flap (cat door). But, she actually has two chips because the first one didn't work. The vet only checked the first implant after it was injected but it failed to register on the reader. The second tag was scanned through the sterile packaging and it worked fine before and after being injected.

The way I bought it, the tag was already loaded into the injection assembly and so the needle was shielding the tag against being read. Supposedly, the tags are tested before they're loaded into the syringes and gassed, though.

Thanks to this vid it helped me put the NExT RFID+NFC chip implant in my hand by myself. Unfortunately in my area piercing shops are not allowed to implant anything under the skin.

For instance the only non-sterile object to touch my hand after it's been treated with Prevantics is my gloved finger. But out of shot, I actually treated the glove with Prevantics PDI as well. I don't know why I keep watching this kind of stuff. It puts me in a bad flight response mood. Super triggered. But also so fascinating, and I want to know about the technology of the today-future! Implants and stuff like that are totally going to become more and more common and while I can't stand the idea of going through that kind of procedure on just local anesthetic, I can definitely live with the idea of benefiting from it afterwards and I believe we will find ways to make it easier for future patients to accept that it's safe and that they shouldn't be scared.

From an engineering point of view, I've never really understood what 'problem' you're trying to solve with RFID implants? Nearly half the video needed to be taken up talking about all the reasons why it's 'dangerous' or 'hazardous' to things like MRI scanners, bacteria, sterilisation, discolouring of the skin, scars, foreign body inside yours etc etc... And all that risk / energy for what? So you don't have to remember a password or carry a KeyFob on your keychain? And at least if someone figures out my password, I can just come up with another one in my head instantly, whereas I could scan your hand without you even knowing I've done it, then I've got your RFID code... Then your only option is to have to perform yet another 'procedure' to remove your compromised RFID chip and inject yet another new one... Same with all biometrics; someone compromises your fingerprint, what you gonna do? Get new fingerprints? Anyone with an IQ above room temperature can think that far ahead surely? Lol. Amazing...

But I would also point out that I've obviously performed/undergone similarly risky procedures for no practical benefit whatsoever (nose bar, earrings, tattoos). I'm an enthusiast, I have these devices for their own sake. Don't mistake me for one of these rabid utopian transhumanists. I do, however, think it's good that there are enthusiasts out there who are willing to play with these technologies and procedures because we don't know for sure what could come out of it. As for your security concerns, a situation such as my auto locks are definitely a situation of understanding your threat model. If someone wants to get into your car, they're not going to clone your RFID fob or try to copy your key, they're not even gonna pick the lock. They'll slimjim the door or bust out your window. I don't view RFID as a security technology (because it wasn't ever supposed to be), it's really just a selective proximity technology. It allows a machine to selective detect the presence of objects. Authenticating those objects is a separate problem. It doesn't take someone with an IQ of room temperature Kelvin to implement 2/3-factor authentication. Thanks for your feedback!
+Joop Media If it was a mainstream thing i guess it would be for convenience. But because this is a thing not many people do it has to be something for curiosity or some other urges. As for the convenience argument: Having to pull a RFID card out of your wallet is more of a hassle than just waving your hand in front of the door to open it, and unlike your wallet you can not forget to bring your hand at any time. But a bracelet or a wristwatch with a RFID tag will do the same job with no risk, but then again you can take of your watch and forget to put it back on and lock yourself out (but you should have a second safety like a code lock, etc in addition to the RFID anyway).

Theres probably easier ways for them to do it anyway. Hey! So sorry it took a while for me to get around to replying, I've avoided comments on this video for obvious reasons. So, the 125kHz tag has one indelible piece of data on it (unique serial number) so there's no risk of overwrite there. The 13MHz NFC tag _can_ be re-written but it is possible to lock it using a password in order to prevent this. As far as the feeling, I forget that they're even there. I've only become aware of them when holding very large N45 magnets, I could feel the NFC tag try to reorient itself. But it didn't hurt, it stayed put and it still works. Also, most people probably won't expose their hands to, like, 6000 surface Gauss... so most people would never feel their tags move around. I skateboard, ride a motorcycle, and work with my hands lifting and fabricating and I haven't yet identified an activity that was hindered by it.

It's a big needle, but it only has to go just under the skin and it doesn't have to poke back out anywhere. I can't say how much it might hurt for people who aren't experienced with getting pierced, but I can say that I prefer tattoos to piercings any day of the week, and you don't see my hands shaking in the video.

1st problem your sterile drape you put down. It's not sterile because you touched it with bare hands. That surface is now contaminated! It's a wonderful idea to put something down to work from. I generally call this working from a sterile field, but it's important to remember as human beings we are organic and can not be sterile only disinfected. Next part that bothers me is using your bare had to touch the packaging on the device. Honestly man, why would you not scrub in, glove up, and open your sterile drape, lay it out, open your device remove both gloves. Scrub back in open your sterile gloves apply your one sterile glove, disinfect the area then proceed? These are relatively easy steps to help insure the absolute least amount of risk. If you want to do sloppy work, I don't care if your doing it on yourself. You aren't hurting me so that's good but the people who watch this will think that doing it the way you did is the correct way. That's going to lead someone to the ER with MRSA.

really sad, machines should obey to us not the opposite. all the uses you showed are not necessary for tagging, there are cars that have smart keys (looks like a credit card) & there are NFC stickers. I never used NFC since I bought my phone.

Good design dictates that we shouldn't have to adjust to using it. That being said, while the practical application of this _specific_ technology is pretty limited; the culture, procedures and class of devices that it represents could be important in the future. I'm an early adopter, and like the Desktop 3D Printing early adopters whose hobby quickly became "maintaining a 3D printer" instead of "3D printing" itself... I'm also using this technology for its own sake, not necessarily because I think it's practical. I would reserve judgement about whether it's "really sad," though. Surely your standard for what's really sad isn't quite that low.

i would get in huge trouble having that sticker on my car at work... then again I work in and near radiation areas all the time so people are more sensitive to it and by the looks of it, that sticker came from a legit source cause its identical to the ones I see around work.

No . I have a magent implant in my left ringfinger and also several RFID Chips. Magnet and MRI i read different stuff, the best thing is talk to the MRI Tech. The magnet should be around 5 centimeters away from the RFID Tags.

I didn't realize I had done that (for the benefit of the camera) until after I watched. I had scrubbed my hands pretty well with greensoap beforehand but I still shouldn't have done that.
There are definitely other problems as well, I wouldn't advise anyone to follow my procedure. There are some bits missing in the video, though. For instance the only non-sterile object to touch my hand after it's been treated with Prevantics is my gloved finger. But out of shot, I actually treated the glove with Prevantics PDI as well.
Also, I wasn't wearing a mask, which is probably a good idea.

From an engineering point of view, I've never really understood what 'problem' you're trying to solve with RFID implants? Nearly half the video needed to be taken up talking about all the reasons why it's 'dangerous' or 'hazardous' to things like MRI scanners, bacteria, sterilisation, discolouring of the skin, scars, foreign body inside yours etc etc... And all that risk / energy for what? So you don't have to remember a password or carry a KeyFob on your keychain? And at least if someone figures out my password, I can just come up with another one in my head instantly, whereas I could scan your hand without you even knowing I've done it, then I've got your RFID code... Then your only option is to have to perform yet another 'procedure' to remove your compromised RFID chip and inject yet another new one... Same with all biometrics; someone compromises your fingerprint, what you gonna do? Get new fingerprints? Anyone with an IQ above room temperature can think that far ahead surely? Lol. Amazing...

But I would also point out that I've obviously performed/undergone similarly risky procedures for no practical benefit whatsoever (nose bar, earrings, tattoos). I'm an enthusiast, I have these devices for their own sake. Don't mistake me for one of these rabid utopian transhumanists.
I do, however, think it's good that there are enthusiasts out there who are willing to play with these technologies and procedures because we don't know for sure what could come out of it.
As for your security concerns, a situation such as my auto locks are definitely a situation of understanding your threat model. If someone wants to get into your car, they're not going to clone your RFID fob or try to copy your key, they're not even gonna pick the lock. They'll slimjim the door or bust out your window. I don't view RFID as a security technology (because it wasn't ever supposed to be), it's really just a selective proximity technology. It allows a machine to selective detect the presence of objects. Authenticating those objects is a separate problem. It doesn't take someone with an IQ of room temperature Kelvin to implement 2/3-factor authentication.

As for the convenience argument: Having to pull a RFID card out of your wallet is more of a hassle than just waving your hand in front of the door to open it, and unlike your wallet you can not forget to bring your hand at any time. But a bracelet or a wristwatch with a RFID tag will do the same job with no risk, but then again you can take of your watch and forget to put it back on and lock yourself out (but you should have a second safety like a code lock, etc in addition to the RFID anyway).

Hey! So sorry it took a while for me to get around to replying, I've avoided comments on this video for obvious reasons.
So, the 125kHz tag has one indelible piece of data on it (unique serial number) so there's no risk of overwrite there. The 13MHz NFC tag _can_ be re-written but it is possible to lock it using a password in order to prevent this.
As far as the feeling, I forget that they're even there. I've only become aware of them when holding very large N45 magnets, I could feel the NFC tag try to reorient itself. But it didn't hurt, it stayed put and it still works. Also, most people probably won't expose their hands to, like, 6000 surface Gauss... so most people would never feel their tags move around.
I skateboard, ride a motorcycle, and work with my hands lifting and fabricating and I haven't yet identified an activity that was hindered by it.

1st problem your sterile drape you put down. It's not sterile because you touched it with bare hands. That surface is now contaminated! It's a wonderful idea to put something down to work from. I generally call this working from a sterile field, but it's important to remember as human beings we are organic and can not be sterile only disinfected. Next part that bothers me is using your bare had to touch the packaging on the device. Honestly man, why would you not scrub in, glove up, and open your sterile drape, lay it out, open your device remove both gloves. Scrub back in open your sterile gloves apply your one sterile glove, disinfect the area then proceed? These are relatively easy steps to help insure the absolute least amount of risk. If you want to do sloppy work, I don't care if your doing it on yourself. You aren't hurting me so that's good but the people who watch this will think that doing it the way you did is the correct way. That's going to lead someone to the ER with MRSA.

What software did you use on PC? Any RFID software I find or get is full of malware and/or data mining.
@Fushiguro Megumi Hello, Yes I have 3 of them. 2 usb and one handheld standalone. Seems the 2 usb are hard coded with malware. Several test sites even detected data mining in them, which reports to several different sites. I currently have another different brand on its way to me. Thanks

you can! they don't contain enough metal to damage you during an MRI, or set off a metal detector. the main implant you'd need to get removed for that would be a biomagnet.

No . I have a magent implant in my left ringfinger and also several RFID Chips. Magnet and MRI i read different stuff, the best thing is talk to the MRI Tech. The magnet should be around 5 centimeters away from the RFID Tags.
