    Seems overkill. When I want to raise my desk, I just prop it up on some old Gameboys.

    Having been stuck at home for almost a year and moving a lot less I think these sorts of desks would help. Also don't underestimate the importance of having multiple holes to screw into.

    Paper assembly manuals should die out today and always be replaced by video tutorials that producers should upload in youtube, at least in the box there should be a piece of paper with an IR code to reach them.

    • @ToxoRetro

      To an extent I agree; globally we need to reduce wastage as much as practically possible, to reduce the affects of climate change, protecting the forests/woodlands/natural habitats as well as preserving fossil fuels until scientists find legitimate alternatives. We do however live in a world with technophobic, often older members of the community.
      Ok, this example is aimed at office work and computer users, therefore aimed at the computer literate. Other furniture may need printed instructions for the IT illiterate to build from. I believe IKEA (who do publish PDF instructions on their website) use recycled paper. I think the next best compromise would be to print the instructions on the cardboard packaging on larger units.

      @LucaBlightOfHighland 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ToxoRetro Whenever possible it would be good to do as you say. Anyway, in my ideal world (I realize it is difficult to achieve) it should not be progress that must stop to not leave behind technophobic or people who have various difficulties in approaching technology, but it is these that must be helped to become familiar with technological means as much as possible because the benefits for most people far outweigh the difficulties of those few (who obviously must not be left behind).
      I'll give you the example of Italy, here until very recently we all paid only in cash and this greatly favors tax evasion by professionals, political parties have always played the card of "the elderly can't learn the modern payment systems" to not be forced to proceed with the evolution of these mechanics (the real reason is to not to lose the votes of elderly and tax evaders) and therefore we have fallen behind on the issue and are only recently trying to catch up with other developed countries, at the cost of a lot of effort and waste of money.
      Most people can learn, who can't, can be helped in different ways.
      I hope you understand the concept, I don't speak English very well. :P

      Good analogy. With any change, there needs to be advancements to improve things (more efficient, more secure, more convenient, etc) whilst not changing too much, too fast or too often (leaving people behind or just confusing the public). It's a tough balance.
      When analogue TV was discontinued in the UK (before the 2012 Olympics), I was working for an electronics store. The amount of middle-aged and elderly who didn't have a clue was surprisingly big; probably 40-50% of our customers! More often than not, it's the fear of the unknown.
      Digital video formats, on the other hand, do rattle with my head. Still can't play GoPro footage on my PSP. Even in the correct format, the codec claims to be wrong - I can't find out what it is or how to change it. 😵 Too complex, despite being brought up with and having studied computers at college.
      By the way, your English is really good. 👍 My language is so confusing with all the different rules set by the various historic invasions (the Celtic tribes, the Romans, the Saxons, the Vikings, the Normans, etc) - even us UK residents get our spelling and grammar wrong. 😜

      But iPhones are £1200 and you can buy another phone for 60% of the price. Or a Ferrari is £100,000 and you can buy another car for 60% of the price. I don’t see your point? These desks are all fairly similar in price, this is a review of the flexispot one.
