I have been watching your videos for several years now. While I have learnt a lot and love seeing what you create and how, I am even more blessed by your integrity and the way you live out faith in God through your kind words and actions. Hearing you show respect to those who have paved the way in the card making industry is just another example of this. Thanks for taking the time to fill us in on. God Bless! :)

I have always loved Hero Arts. My first stamp from them is from 1988 from when I was in High School. I used to participate in the Hero Arts contests before the blog. When the blog came along I remember it starting & your first video. I have always viewed them as one of the most respected companies in the industry. I'm glad you took a few minutes to remind everyone about them. Your cards are amazing, as always! Jil

Beautiful cards Jennifer, I don't stop near often enough to leave comments...I want to change that! I especially loved the back story on Hero Arts!! I know they sure appreciated it too!! They truly are wonderful people there and great examples of leaders in their industry. Running a company with Christianity in their hearts and always known for their examples of amazing Humanity. A real pleasure shopping with a company of this stature!!

I was introduced to Hero Arts when I began taking calligraphy classes in the early 80's. Our instructor taught us to use rubber stamps along with pen and ink when decorating our projects. I still have Hero Arts stamps I bought way back then!

Amazing story about Hero Arts. I have heard you talk about them before in terms of them being your first love and how they helped you get started, but I didn't know about the impact they had all over the industry. And what a great leader Erin is, to encourage other stampers so that everyone in the industry is competitive. And also on their impact to you personally in terms of how many friends you met - this is a wonderful story. I love it!
Gorgeous cards, as always, I now have a MISTI so am looking forward to stamping my small images up - the gold embossing powder is lush! Thank you for the video and inspiration Jennifer!

You make pattern stamping look so easy and fun. Because of your video on the Misti - way back then - I bought one myself. It makes life so much better - and I use it all the time when I have stamp & die sets where the dies are solid. With the Misti, I can make a template and stamp on the die cut perfectly every time. You are such an inspiration. Thank you!

Being a Hero Hostess was such an honor and helped me to find my place in this wonderful community and industry! I will always be grateful. By the way, my first ever stamp purchase was a Hero Arts teddy bear stamp, in the mid 1980s :)

I have to thank you for the story. The cards are beautiful as always, but the story hit home for me. I work for a US based company that started a new "craze" 16 years ago. It has finally kicked into high gear last year and our competition is passing us in sales by leaps and bounds. We still have our loyal customers and we are slowly growing. It has been frustrating for me to watch the competition take over a market my boss started. I now have a new way to look at our competitors. So thank you :)

I loved the Hero Arts story, I did not know that...I recently started my own stamp company, and though it's small, I've definitely seen how some companies do not want competition or will not encourage, nor help with even the most minor issue, so I've done everything myself, I love the designing aspect and that's what has kept me going! Thank you for sharing the Hero Arts story! As a person that also started out scrapbooking...I was a person who didn't care for the process of putting pages/layouts together. I think it was including photos that was frustrating to me. However, I've always loved stamping and knew as a kid that one day there would be so many choices I would have to choose carefully what I wanted. Your story gave me the "how" background that this came about and the "why" this community is so friendly and cordial. I must admit I'm a huge Lawn Fawn fan! I have more of there products than of any other brand. But I buy brands that are from newer companies such as Concord & 9th, and companies that have been around for a longer time, including Hero Arts! Stamps have to speak to me for me to buy them. As for Spectrum Noir, I've not been impressed with most of their products. I've watched many use these glitter pens and I noticed a huge lack of the ability to control it...and I've also seen people use these for larger areas and the lines of how you applied them are so visable, it made me cringe. I tend to care much more for my at you Spica gitter pens by the Copic makers as well as the Wink of Stella glitter brush pens. I wanted to thank you for incorporating the use of the MISTI in your videos. Due to my severe health diagnosis, energy is so precious it's like gold. I found that the 'price' for me has been worth it many times over. This is because I have to create in my bed, and the MISTI has made it possible to create more than one card at a time by cutting stamping time down by a 1/4 in my case. And with so many people who care for me and do so many kind things for me and my family, they need thank you cards to show the appreciation we feel. I like to send cards that I made personally, and this helps me be able to do so, along with the hard work by such awesome stamp companies. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of card making on your videos. I'm a big fan!

Wow....love these cards!!!! I have been watching you for about a year now and i love you!!!! Many many years ago.... before 2001....i was working for the graphic designer who handled the Hero Arts account. I assume he still does? Back then it was all wood block stamps. I would work on the catalogs and color the digital versions of the stamp labels, help with photographing the sample cards that were displayed in the catalog, and lots of other things. It was great fun and i many times felt like i was coloring (on a computer) for a living. At the time Hero Arts was located in Emeryville, CA and i also worked in Emeryville. I visited the plant several times and it was always great fun and i remember wishing i could be more involved there. In 2001 I moved to the northwest and so no longer could work for the designer and to this day it was the best and most fun job i have had. It is so ironic how now i am super interested in stamping and coloring with handmade media, markers, ink, watercolors, ect. and the world is much more digital now. I have slowly been getting a few supplies and i hope to start creating cards and such with stamping and embossing and all! I am super critical of myself and i have to get over that and you are wonderful to learn from! Thank you for your story...it brought all kinds of great memories back!

Love this technique using the MISTI. I actually tried this the other night with my Christmas card design. I have an idea for stamping a poinsettia wreath, but I only have two pointsettia stamps...so I cut a small square of card stock and used this very idea! I'm still trying to perfect the placement of the stamps, but I like your idea of drawing on vellum and using it as a guide...I'll have to try that next! Also, thanks for sharing about Hero Arts...I've always wondered how people "got started"! Love your cards, videos, and inspiration! God bless! 😊

What a lovely story and such a great insight into companies that are somewhat untouchable to most of us. Im really loving the new Sparkle pens and must get my hands on some. Right down my alley.
    Tfs such lovely cards also.
    Take care 🌹

Thank you so much for sharing your techniques. I haven't felt like I was really getting the bang for my buck with the MISTI - love how you used it for the pattern stamping. I'm definitely going to try that! I'm still sorta new to stamping and you are my go to for inspiration! Also, thanks for the history of Hero Arts!

Beautiful cards Jennifer!! Loved listening to the Hero Arts story as well. Hero Arts was the first clear stamp I bought :)

Wow Jennifer! This is such an innovative technique. I have lot of little "filler" stamps that I have never used that I am going to try this with. Thanks for sharing

Jennifer...this was a wonderful tutorial!!! And I was also very happy to hear your story about Hero Arts. I was also thrilled to see how you did this embossing technique. I have been on the look out for an acetate template/guide I can use in my MISTI, however, I haven't been able to find one. You have given me a great idea. I'll put some grid lines on a piece of vellum, using my t-ruler...and then laminate it. :) These cards are gorgeous!! Thank you for sharing!! :)

These are gorgeous! Some of my earliest stamps (I have been stamping for 17 years) ARE Hero Arts. ♥ them and still use them!
