Everyone saying the home is large for empty nesters seems to forget that families grow. The boys will have spouses and children in a matter of years. We can tell they're a very close family, there will probably be extra people in their home for one reason or another on a weekly basis. I think this is a perfect forever home. Congrats family!!! My Thoughts...I never use them terms for that reason. Master bedroom to me is do to the size of the room, so that’s about the only word I use in a different sense.
Butler pantries and/or service rooms started in medieval times in castles and the word pantry was derived from the French word paneterie. So it started way before slavery in America and elsewhere, although slavery has been going on since the dawn of time. England and America, primarily in the 1850s,-1900s, started using these concepts of service rooms. However, I can understand what you mean. When we see things like this it can remind us of such a horrible and inhumane time. The first thing we think about is an older male slave busting his butt trying to please his "massa".
