Pabbatupatthara Jataka (Jataka #195)
In this story, the king tells the Buddha about a betrayal. The Buddha uses a story from the past to teach the king a powerful lesson.
Wat San Fran is proud to present stories taken from the Jatakas, Dhammapada, and Buddhist history. These stories often use past rebirth stories (Jatakas) to reveal the connection between past and present, and illustrate the relationship between cause and effect.
Check out the playlist #AnimatedBuddhistStories by Wat San Fran to explore the complete series.

Respect to Dhamma, Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu..
Sadhu sadhu sadhu...anumodana from Bengal 🙏🏼
Looking at the past life story of Ananda and Buddha also falling victim to betrayal when he was a Bodhisattva, I feel like these incidents are meant to happen, they keep happening until we get wisdoms from it. Things, situations are just excuses,
but one should have a mindset like a king that nothing should be taken personally.
👏🙏
this is true majesty 👑
What a wonderful lesson! Namo Buddhaya!
In other religious stories this would have been a horrible end - in Ramayana, Sita was eventually abandoned in the wilds due to a mere rumor of transgression.
In the Bible, the person committing adultery should be killed.
Thank goodness for Buddha!
sadhu sadhu sadhu 🙏🙏🙏
It’s easy to act on impulse, however the fact he took a few moments to understand his own actions before realising it while it’s too late is respectable. This king truly understands his role as a king.
SAADHU SAADHU SAADHU 🙏🌷🙏
Thank you so much for view and advice given. Love have to generous. Sadhu sadhu sadhu.
So much wisdom 🙀 but it think loyalty must be guarded above all. Even if the king wasn’t lessened, his servants should have protected his honor. True love protects the one being loved
I would also argue that the leader of a country, whether he be a King or a President, must uphold the rule of law to a greater extent than normal civilians. Pardoning members of his own court or cabinet could dissolution his people or allow further corruption to spread.
I agree.

The perception of self-importance, attha, what makes someone to easily get angry and short-tempered.

"Brief Moment", that's to learn, even for a moment, if mind comes to sense tense situation, we can save ourselves from committing a wrongful deed
🙏🙏🙏
This was such a great story, sadhu! Your animations are so beautiful and well done. Please consider doing the story of Ven. Ananda as you did with Vens. Sariputta and Moggallana 🙏Thank you for the hard work, anumodana.
Thanks for your support and submitting your request. We're currently working on adding more videos, and we'll make an effort to include the Ver.Anada in our future additions.
Sadhu
I would be happy if two of my best servants fell in love with each other. May they have wonderful children together! May their lives be blessed infinitely!
I would be sad if my servants, if I were a king, died alone and sad - having never known the love of a good husband or a good wife.
