  • Innovation is driven by those who work hard and take risks. We need to reward those who take initiative and go the extra mile, instead of focusing solely on performance.

Hey YOU, incredible person reading this...The truth is you are confident and good enough already with who you are, where you are at and what you have right now to have the success you want in life. Don't let others define what “success” is for you. Get up, learn that skill and go after it! I believe in you so much! Have an awesome day! - Love, Nat ❤️

I worked for a company where your advancement was based on lack of failure rather than presense of success or initiative. That spoke very loudly.

Dear friend, taking risks can be scary, but it's often necessary for growth and progress. When someone on your team takes a risk, whether it leads to success or failure, it's important to acknowledge their efforts and celebrate their courage. Remember to reward risk-taking behavior, as it can encourage innovation and a growth mindset within your team. By recognizing and celebrating risk-takers, you can create a positive and supportive workplace culture that values growth and progress. Best of luck in rewarding your team's risk-takers!

*"Everything in life is easier when you don't concern yourself with what other people are doing."*
The chances of you seeing this comment is pretty low, but if you did, *I hope you have an amazing day.* 🖤

So incredibly true. It pushes one past the boundaries set up by achieving a mere goal. I have experienced this as a person being managed and a manager of people. It is way more satisfying to be recognised for your efforts, even if the the financial reward is relatively small. If a target is to be achieved, the euphoric effects of the reward lasts for a much shorter period no matter how large that reward.

I forget to criticize people of wrongdoing privately. I do thank and honor people in public. Thank you for the advice.

Science supports this. If you get so big/powerful, you tend to want to do the same thing, and avoid anything new.

Keep groveling for those crumbs. Don't actually challenge a disgusting, contradictory, irrational economic system. Keep striving to be a slave owner instead of a slave.

Rewarding behavior over performance is a tough thing to do. Most of the time the people creating the reward structure in companies are not intelligent bebough to understand this concept, let alone implement something like this. This is why middle management in most companies is filled with legacy employees keeping the status quo.

Most large companies fear risk takers and only promote those who don't rock the boat.

Interesting. Thank you Simon! I see a lot of companies reward ”firefighters”, but is that what you want, a company full of ”firefighters” or do you want people who prevent ”fires” from starting?

Unfortunately, my experience is your immediate supervisors see the fear of being outshined by someone below them…Greta ideas are smashed…and pirated by these supervisors..then they commence to sabotage those who actually make the company stronger, better…
