last step is missing. You have to put one end of the heart inside the other end (which is inside the both of them and is making a little pocked in which u can place the other one) and then u can use it as a corner bookmark

Yes, unfortunately the paper suffers trauma and usually struggles to make a full recovery. A full recovery is very unlikely though due to the fact that it will spend the rest of its life being squashed between its own kind.
