Best intro ever!!! Such valuable info that is also so simple to follow. I’ve never polished yet I understand everything Yvan is explaining because it’s so clear. Good on you guys for everything you do for the community!
Appreciate that! that weekend was so fun and I learned so much. Even if we were not in each others videos we always tried to do something like with intros or helping in the background of a video. Yvan is such a great teacher.
A little tip for those that don't want to spend $200+ on a pad washer, I use an empty bucket with a bunch of empty plastic pop bottles turned upside down to clean the pad.
That’s a great idea! I know DIY Detail is coming out with a cheaper version that just sits on any bucket with no moving parts. Should be out in the spring.
With the diy detail spray polish on their pads its super easy. I did a black car with the rotary without ever polishing before it it came out mint looking. No buffer marks or anything.
Agreed, The gold standard polish and the waffle pads is what got me over that edge to put the machine on the paint. Can't believe now why I was so afraid, but I understand the fear as I was in that boat not too long ago.
You measured the temp of the hood after holding the rotary stationary for around 30 seconds, it was 94 degrees. At what temp do you need to be concerned with the clear coat getting too hot?
Lol now it makes sense why my Hercules rotary was pulling on curves. I used flat pads, I’ll definitely be ordering some waffle pads. The results still with a flat pad were better than a DA and much easier. For finishing or light polish rotary is the way to go. I used griots ceramic all in one if anyone is curious
You should get proper training on the rotary. Rotary is the best cutting tool and it’s not close. Eron Knox, matt Arendt, David Patterson, Steve shinedr, Jason Killmer can all get you sorted out.
Is it ok to use a rotary on a finish that has light to medium cob webbing and or towel scratches. Would you use a white polish pad. Please advise. Thanks, Rich
Keav I know this is not what we are talking about in the video, but can you get more gallons out of CR spotless versus the Bam Bam? Or does it come out even when you do the price difference?

Nice video. Haven’t used a rotary yet, but I can imagine it’s a much smoother experience
I learned it and just totally forgot about it as we filmed it months ago. After finally getting around to editing this I'm now buying a rotary. LOL
Hope you’ve taken the lessons learned and polished more than your test hood
Soon that will be what I do with my daily driver just got to set aside the time.
Keav way to go! ❤ the intro! A lot of fun! Great video
Was so fun to film this video.
I learned a lot in this one! I used the diy rotary it very easy to use. ❤
Very easy indeed!
Thanks
That’s the polishing system I will be using.
It’s a great system for sure.
Great video - love the intro! Haven't had the guts to use a Rotary - maybe now I will!
I didn’t either, but as long as you keep at the lowest speed it’s easy.
U can do it Deb!
It’s easier than you think.
New Yvan quote “ I wake up at three, three fifteen every morning so I can hate flat pads a little more every day”
Lol
It’s not new, I’ve been saying it for 30 years
Lots of good quotes in this video. 🤣
@@CarsWithKeav So true. It’s like whole video of Yvan-isms and polishing tips. 🤣 He is right though, flat pads suck.
@@dosto233Thank you.

Great Video Yvan!
Thank you, FAB and Keav made it possible
Yes, thank You Yvan for being such a great teacher.
Great video chaps.
Thank you
Rotary is 🐐!
Dude I swear at first I thought that was a donkey. I'm like AF is being savage today. LOL
@CarsWithKeav That would have been super funny, but I LOVE ROTARY
Thanks Keav and Brian👌
You're Welcome of course couldn't do it without the master Yvan.
@ agreed appreciate that he’s patience is heartwarming 👌
@@davidboyce6427 He was real patient with me and using those gloves thats for sure. LOL
@@CarsWithKeavI’m not a master, just a student.
I was just thinking earlier, its been a while since I've keav's video. And then you uploaded this. Lets goo
Glad I uploaded when I did. LOL
Nice demo and great explanations👌👍
Thank You
I bought a cheap DA polisher from chemical guys 3 years ago and never used it because I've been too afraid I'll mess something up.
No fear.

Ivan, where did you get your "knee glider/creeper"? I would like one being 62 years old. I'm always working on better posture
It’s a prototype I’m working on.
@diydetailofficial cool. Hopefully, you bring it to market like your pad washer. Thank you for responding
That creeper is so cool and forces good posture which I need. I bet this will be for sale at some point its a great product.
You measured the temp of the hood after holding the rotary stationary for around 30 seconds, it was 94 degrees. At what temp do you need to be concerned with the clear coat getting too hot?
You want to keep temperature gain under 40 degrees F.
Let's go

Do you use a steamer to detail your car?
@@gearlstrickland3365 I have not used one before on a car. Never had one dirty enough to need one. 🤣
I like sling all over the place!!!
Thanks for watching
