  • October 2023 I finally got a chance to see this place I had only recently heard of, despite living in Vietnam for years, and it was incredible. Because we were strapped on time we only did two days and we did not do any intense multi-day motorbike riding that people typically do here. But we did get a chance to get really close to our incredible guides and get a glimpse of the local cultures, in addition to the breathtaking nature.
I do really recommend our eco lodge, The Palm Ha Giang. Ask the owner to book you a your with Long and his awesome wife, Tâm. They are kind and very professional guides.

Great video.. I like where you stayed and used local guides. Do they also speak English? The weather must have be great there as the one woman is in a bathing suit and shorts. The most interesting was that the community builds the house together. what a great tradition. Also, that you talked to your guides about their life and customs there. Bride kidnapping? Did they say that was done by the Hmong? Seems a little negative about a culture in their own country unless I didn’t understand. I know that has been done by foreigners for money and it probably still happening today. The countryside is beautiful and i would love to got there someday before it all changes.. thanks.

Thanks for commenting! It was actually really hot and humid. Yeah the bride kidnapping is an old Hmong custom apparently. I did some research and it's still happening today in more of a "safe" way, where it's completely consensual. But I guess she was referring to a time when it really wasn't. But bride kidnapping happens quite a bit in traditional cultures throughout Asia. Anyways, I hope you get to visit Ha Giang some day!
