😭🥺 that moment when your band director has this as the very last piece so your notes sound spitty and wet. We had 8 songs to play. Bridgeview, fire dance, Under an Irish sky, Loch Lomond, Moscow 1942, Nebula, Arabian dances, and Rippling watercolors. The band director we had for this passed away due to a heart attack and I miss him so much. I was his most improved player 💔 everyone else hated him but he helped me improve and see the beauty in the fact that they aren't just notes you play on a page. They move you
My band director is the same he told us during rippling make a story out of the song and act like your playing for a loved one and put your soul into it
This song makes me cry. I still remember the first time I ever heard it when my brothers were playing it, and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It made me happy and sad at the same time, which is a feeling I hope not to forget. Such a beautiful and emotional piece and is one of those moments you know music has emotion.
Playing this for lgpe in my high schools symphonic band this year and the phrasing, instrumentation of this song just gives me goosebumps every time we play it
I love this peice so much and it makes me cry every time i hear it because i had a gecko thay has recenly passed on, it makes me think of her every time and im playing this in band right now
Im in 6th grade, im playing this for my band concert in spring!! I play alto sax! I'm the youngest one other than like, 3 other ppl. I just moved to honor band and im really happy! I only played for 1.5yrs!!!
@@a_bp13 I would ask if we were going to the same all region but I’m not doing a Halloween song (but one of them could kinda be classified as that’s so I’ll start it off so you live in America…?????)
Im in 6th grade and I'm going to play with thr honor band of my school being only a beginner since I already had experience with other instruments, they're making me play the harp (not frequent instrument for band or at all kinda) with anither kid in eigth grade that plays the harp as well and its something amazing specially bc I've wanted to play the harp my whole life. I'm going to play this song on my Christmas concert and it's a dream come true to play with the honor band of my school congratulations to anyone that has played this beautiful song before

Same here
Mine too I'm so excited for uil this year
Interestingly it is Grade 2 - If you're an advanced band, dont miss out on using this one in your rehearsals in the bandroom
our old director used to use this as a tuning exercise!
@@LukeSpaceAsame
my band played this song for a concert even though our overall skill level is higher, this song sounds very nice to me though I loved playing it

It's a beautiful piece.😊
I played in a junior high honor band, and we played this along with General Greene, Sun Cycles, and a medley from Phantom of the Opera.
Im a euphonium and we are playing this for assessment. It makes me sob
same
I played this in 7th grade along with Mountain of the Sun and Marzo Zingaro. These are my favorite 3 pieces to play at the moment.
I play crash cymbals in this. We’ve only just got this piece as a band tho. I was so nervous but I executed it pretty well. :)
I also play triangle too with that.
Triangle and Crash Cymbal Ain't that hard...
I got the vibe :)
I played this piece almost 2 years ago at all region
That’s what IM about to do!
@@zigmaster5199us too. our band teacher is also having us play a Halloween song 💀

Um, Brian, eyes on your copy. I know Randall Standridge is a good composer, but you’re not allowed to copy off his test!
IYKYK
Wait does it sound similar to one of Randall Standriges work?
@@Brikatsof
Parts of it sound a bit similar to unBroken, but I wouldn't call this work a copy of anything to my knowledge.
My band directors are having us play this piece as middle schoolers and on the page it looks so easy but making it sound good is the hard part
If the current TH-cam checkpoint gets taken down again, this shall replace it.
Playing for UIL
Anyone else think the Bar 16 section here sounds like the Bar 35 section in 'The Witch and the Saint'?
I played that song last year and that section at measure 16 reminds me of it every time.
