I think I've found you on Instagram through your hyperlapses, but I definitely stayed for the incredible photography. Can't believe this is episode 10 already, love the series ^^
Hahah I felt that way the first time I went. Would be funny if i accidentally ordered a bunch of extras and no ramen. It’s not that hard though. It’s just confusing when they give you a form and then tell you to use the vending machine.
Killer as always! Loved shooting at that spot too! For the timelapse at Ginza did you have to fix all the individual white lines for every single frame??? Thats serious commitment to the craft if so!
Cool you've shot it too! You have a keen eye re the Ginza crossing haha. I do not have that much time bro lol. The timelapse was actually shot on my first trip to Japan in 2017. They do repaint crossings every so often tho
Beautiful video as always! hopefully I'll be putting these tips to use in November (travel permitting). I've wondered where the popular shot down Chuo-dori Ave. at 6:20 was taken from. I could never work it out from Google maps.
I don’t think the typical shot is shot from Shimbashi monorail station but I like that my take is different from the usual. The typical shot is taken from a rooftop.
This was brilliant mate!. Those small rooms you sleep in, GOD DAMN!. No way i could do that. The hyper lapse method with photos was so good. My favourite for sure :~)
haha this was a big capsule man it was a double bed. They're actually pretty cozy. We have driverless trains on the Hills line. I've shot it but it doesn't look as good.
This is awesome! If you're doing the hyperlapse with photos rather than video, do you lock in all settings at the start so nothing changes during the journey, or do you adjust exposure (or let the camera adjust) along the way?
Amazing stuff, I love this series! Can I ask what shot interval you used for the monorail/rainbow bridge hyperlapse? I watched your Adobe live but I don't think you mentioned it. That's the bit of timelapses that I struggle with sometimes.
Hi Amelia. I shot it at 1 second intervals because I wanted as much footage as possible. But I was adjusting the shutter speed / exposure manually as the monorail went along. It was such a huge pain doing that haha. Made it a lot harder to edit too (LRTimelapse helped a lot). Basically how you want to decide your intervals (time in between shots) is to think about how much footage you want from the sequence. The shorter the interval (1s in this case), the more photos your camera will take, which means more footage. You also want to consider how much movement there is in the scene you're shooting. In this case I was literally on a moving monorail (lot's of movement), but if you were shooting a slow moving cloud for example, you would want bigger gaps in the interval so the cloud formation and movement would be more apparent. You can always speed the video up in post if you shoot shorter intervals so it's safer if you're unsure. Hope that helps.
Ichiran is a mainstream chain so they have English. The smaller shops with ticket vending machines have all their buttons in Japanese so it’s like a random lucky dip when you order lol
It’s not really possibly on the monorail. Just in case they kick me off the train. I held it there on the ledge (it was very tiring haha). It was stable though.
@@Itchban ohhh exciting! Where are you thinking of going next man? I did a japan film a couple years ago, mix of vlogs and cinematics like yours but I actually prefer this series instead of a long film. Next place I go to I'm going to do it like this as well haha. Hopefully next is either Iceland or Ibiza.
Thanks for watching! I keep a list of songs I want to use every time I come across something I like. Later tbh it’s been from tiktok lol. The track in this ep is actually from my friend Cabu. You should check out his music 👌🏼
Ey yo itchban, could you help me? I love the music you use in your videos and I already added a few of them to my playlists but I can not find Cabu - La Hora from your video. Could you help me there?

@@Itchban lol cozy, yeah right ;~) Hopefully we get driverless trains in tunnels near the city or over the Harbour Bridge. That would be sweet.
Thats sick man!
Thanks for watching John!
@@Itchban you got it man... Your content is dope. Hope i can get there one day before i get to old lol.
This is awesome! If you're doing the hyperlapse with photos rather than video, do you lock in all settings at the start so nothing changes during the journey, or do you adjust exposure (or let the camera adjust) along the way?
Wish I had the time and dedication to explore photography like this. Oh, and a camera would help.
Haha yeah a camera would help. Use your phone! You can always start there and build your skills and eye.
Beautiful place
It really is!
You're my best view bro! lol

Ichiran is a mainstream chain so they have English. The smaller shops with ticket vending machines have all their buttons in Japanese so it’s like a random lucky dip when you order lol
Sick work mate! I only had time for one attempt at that when I was there and royally cocked it up then got kicked off before I could try again haha
Haha you can go back and forth as many times as you want. Just need to hog a spot at the front or back.
"No human interaction". A norwegians dream!
Haha the perfect place to travel solo 👌🏼
very nice mate... but tell me one thing, did you use a tripod to do the hyperlapse?
Nah didn’t have to there was a ledge to rest my camera on.
For the Hyperlapse, are you using a tripod when doing the 2nd method?
It’s not really possibly on the monorail. Just in case they kick me off the train. I held it there on the ledge (it was very tiring haha). It was stable though.
Another great video man! How long were you in Japan for? Or...how many more videos are there to come? :D Kinda hoping they never end haha
Haha I was there for a full month in jan / early feb. Only 1-2 more eps to go I think.

Haha creepin on your specialty for a sec
How many photos did you end up having after that photo hyperlapse 😅😅😅 would have been hectic
I think it was about 800 haha. Which is kind of normal for timelapse / hyperlapses tbh.
