I've said this in a facebook page but I am going to say it again.
This player is so damn talented. Look at Christian Suss for example, he obtained his first pro tour title when he was 27 too BUT Suss have been training professionally while this guy worked in the office and play table tennis for his company.
But not everything will change as he has just recruited in the Japanese team (I guess).
Just unbelievable.

I watched you play very hard and was so impressed not only
by your accurate ball-cutting but also by your hard hit.
It ws exhausting just to watch the game as you moved back and
forth myself, but I was content with your amazing performance!

Didn't you see he apologising at the end of first game? IT'S QUITE OBVIOUS THAT HE DID.
He did apologise in the first point of the second game as well but you have to watch the full match version to see that. Because they didn't edit it into this video.

Shiono defends well, a lot like Matsushita from several years earlier.

Please let him his victory. Whatever the manner. We dont care if Yes or Not he won't Windows against chinese players. I dont understand why comments are still and always Linked to top 10 chinese players. He deserves his open and he show to his coach he can be a potential substitute
Shiono is on a whole different level than Filus. He is faster, has more variety in his chops, better attack strokes... overall much better

Does shiono use some kind of pimple rubber. Or does he just change the flight of the ball naturally?

Carlos can't control and recognized masato style... he is look like use frustration style to face masato :-)
Actually having been to Japan, I can safely say that 85% and more speak English. Some might not speak it very well, but if you're ever stranded there after a teleporter malfunction, you should have no problem asking for directions or police.

Oh I heard they were clueless in English like in most parts of China. But it makes sense than most people there can speak a few words. I really wish I could go there someday also ;)

Why Machado plays so good against Filus defense and so bad against Shionos defense?
Ryu Seung Min, Wang Hao, Wang Liqin are the best chopper fighter.
He was strong. But he didn't care manner. He did not show any kind of action for the fortunate two points. I kinda liked him, but not now. I changed my opinion of him. He is gonna be a just tt player that no one will remember.

does anyone chop with smooth (reverse pimple) rubber on both sides?
Not at a high level. Joanna Parker of England is probably the only current player using this setup. In the mens...? Nope. Their spin and speed is regarded as too great to be controlled by inverted on the backhand. Although at lower levels it is certainly a doable setup.
filus would gave shiono a better match
