I'm sure none of the toxins and poisons in the soil exposed during evaporation will spread over the area after the mining begins in earnest. You can trust the energy companies and take that to the bank.
The lithium is extracted from the geothermal brine that comes from wells that are many thousands of feet under the surface of the land. It is no way connected to the Mistake Lake.
Sure, but the natural mineral resouces underneath the Salton Sea are not man made accidents. We are slated to assault the region a second time with this man made need to drill for the minerals on a commercial scale, when there is already an ecological disaster present in the form of the Salton Sea. One thing at a time, because right now the Salton Sea is being used as a cover to steal the actual minerals in the area.

Fracking is safe and legal. It's been done there for a number of decades already. That is how the geothermal return lines are kept clean. The lithium extraction cleans the returning brine first and actually reduces the frequency of fracturing open the clogged veins.

Lithium isn’t created. It’s an element that’s found within the earth. It’s just lots lithium has been discovered and nobody really cared until now because of the rise of electric cars. Doesn’t seem that they’ll be running out anytime soon because study shows that it has billions worth of lithium which means this project has a possibly of being the start of high rise electric cars and other lithium ion battery devices.
