Congratulations on the buck! I got two does yesterday with my 30-30! Was by the pond because it hasn't rained in a while. Shot one and sent a text to my dad, looked up and there was another deer. The second deer didn't go far, but it ran where i couldn't see it. When my dad showed up with my Whippet Cassie, she put her nose to the ground and found the deer that went out of sight. I didn't know she would do that.

4 years ago, my home state of maryland started to allow straight-walled cartridges. I switched to a cva in 44 mag. Use a 300 gr xtp and it is very accurate. Its become my favorite deer rifle as long as i am not hunting long range. Congrats on the deer WTW! Thanks for keeping it real for us 👍

Congrats on the nice buck. It is disappointing that dealing with your cameras cost you the chance at a couple of big deer, but to me the best part of deer hunting is being out in the field. It is always a good day when you are out hunting.
Congrats. 44 mag is really a very underated cartridge. I also use schrade knives. They are the best bang for the buck hands down. They use very good quality steel.

A lot of 44mag ammo out there. My early issue was finding ammo that was powder loaded for rifle hunting and not pistols. Other than hand loaded 240 grain XTPs; my favorite is white boxed Winchester deer and bear 44mag. No need to re-adjust the scope between the hand loads and these- they have the power. You don't always get exactly 5he results you want but you did get to see that .44 plow a really nice buck! A lot of people don't understand just how much of a trophy that deer is. When you live in areas that are steep and rocky with very little agriculture going on the deer tend to be a bit on the spindly side. That's a dang good spindly deer!
The hydrostatic shock from 300WSM was massive in my scope. I was using someone else's rig and ammo. Direct frontal shot at about 80-100 yards. 3/4 of the bullet went out one armpit, 1/4 out the other, ruining the whole front end. Never again.
That would've been one awesome stalk and catch video but you still got the buck with the.44 mag, so not a failure! About forgetting the memory card, as I always say "Can't win em all" Great job on catching that buck though!
Keep stackin them deer, camera or not. I’m just as happy to watch this video as one with the shot footage because either way, I get to share in your success. Don’t get too bummed about it. I know you’ll hammer out those camera issues and get both of the shots you want.

Got a really nice 10 point with my 8" colt anaconda at 45 yards and open sights, was a very lucky shot, hornady 225g leverevolution ammo, ran 20 yards a dropped, keep up the good videos.
Does the levervolution give good blood trails reason why I’m asking took a doe last weekend with my Taurus tracker .357 with those rounds dropped within 50 yards no blood but complete pass was looking to step it up to the.44

As I mentioned once before, I almost got a 77/44. It's one of those guns that make you think, "Did I make a mistake by backing off???" I will say that if it had been a lever action Deerslayer, I probably would have pulled the trigger at that time. Still, that detracts nothing from the 77/44 or your hunt. 👍👍👍

Oh deer! Well you got a nice buck 👍. A few of my stalking team (hunters, I'm in the UK) use the Hikmicro Alpex day/night scopes and are always sharing the videos of the final bit of their hunts. I'm not sold yet...
@WHOTEEWHO Not illegal here as long as deer are shot between 1 hour before sunrise and until 1 hour after sunset. Otherwise shooting deer at night is illegal here too. And then of course within season, which is right now, and I'm now off hunting in the rain....
Nice, I'm glad you went with the 240gn load.. I know I keep saying it, but you need to get some dies, hard cast boolots and some 44 Spec brass.. you will LOVE that rifle with light loads for small game , kids to use etc :)

Great buck!!! Have a questing for you, I am looking to buy a 6.5 Grendel in bolt action. Either a Ruger American, Howa Mini Action or a CVA Cascade, in you opinion which is the better rifle. Looking for something short and lite to use from a deer stand and shots will be under 150 yards.
Two cards, one in all the time. At least NOW memory is pretty cheep. You know, I seem to remember there isn't a whole bunch of learning between now and Christmas. The kids would learn more out hunting a day or two while everyone else is in class swapping Turkey day stories.

Cva cascade is best from those but not sure they make one in grendel
