She-Ra’s 40th anniversary is going to go by with Mattel barely even acknowledging it. It would have been so cool to see repro or origins style figures of these sisters for fans.
@@MrHootiedean yeah lots of characters' copyrights are renewed and they're thrown on packaging but I had heard of Bow and Shadow Weaver who are good bets to be made next
I want *all* the Star Sisters including the Siblings as figures. Origins need to give us some Star Sisters love. And like the kids say, "a bird in hand is worth a hole near the mouth." Or something like that.
My Uncle Robert work for Mattel in the 80s, he was a toy designer I have the actual Three Star sisters the bubble carriage and the undeveloped third playset the whispering woods.
Oh no way! Are they painted or the prototypes? Never saw the Bubble Carriage beyond the art which I covered in my Joya video. Been hoping a 3D modeller would give the Whispering Woods a stab
@gaytiestoys will I have the original action figures in the packages that was supposed to release for the 1987 toy line. I also have the bubble carriage in the box and I have the whispering woods prototype. which is the actual playset where on top of the piece which has a spinning light, using the pink microphone which is the statue. it would be light hope interacting with She ra. it came with furnitures in the middle I had a staircase.
I'd love to get these in either Masterverse or the Cartoon line, but considering how many higher profile characters there are to go yet, I am not hopeful. Mattel had hinted at doing something big for She-Ra's anniversary this year (I thought maybe an origins Crystal Castle playset to go along with the Cartoon figures) but so far I haven't seen any suggestions of what they might do.
I mean, the year is young, Toy Fair is around the corner, but even doing Bow, Glimmer, Angella, Castaspella... that's a lot of a lot just from the very first wave one so these gals are low on the priorities.
I'd always wondered if these characters were originally meant to be of a type with Zodac, neutral(ish) cosmic judges. I'm not as up on my She-Ra lore as I coulda-woulda-shoulda. Thank you; this is a very cool episode! I'm also now going to start figuring out how to custom make an action figure with bendy straw segments. (Paint and primer is not going to be an option so after I dope out the mechanics I'll have to order the proper-colored straws. Machine Man might be a good first figure to experiment with...)
Bendy straws blew my MIND when I was a kid so when I saw Tallstar would use that cutting edge technology to grow I was like "Instant fave, the rest of you hos can go home."
A bit off-topic, but do we know for sure it's Zo-ar and not Zorr? I always pronounced it the former way, but lately I've heard the latter a lot, to rhyme with Soar. What do I know, all I had was Screeech...
I had neither because I was like that bird is WAY too big to be the one from the cartoon where I THINK they said Zoh-ar but that could be a memory hole
Mattel needs to crank out more females. These girls too. Give us another 3pk and make it Mattel Creations or whatever it takes. And Glory... Bird. Even just saying Glory Bird makes me giggle too 😅😝

Agreed. A Catra and Frosta alone a 40th anniversary do not make.
According to Toy Habits there are future waves of POP planned with Bow and Shadow Weaver coming up soon.

@ 6:40 HAAAAAHAHA!
I have an affinity for the Seahawk character! I had the two parter on VHS as a kid and watched it repeatedly. Top-notch stuff!

Äs my grandmother used to say, a bird in the hole, oops, Chlamydia.
I would personally like to see actual reproductions of the original prototypes as an exclusive.
Oh totally. And then repaint her into a Granita. Boom.
Great subject I loved having your input on that
And what you said about the 2018 POP series is so true 😂
Look to your right, look to your left. All those women are gay.
