    02:13 - Use an end bit №7
    03:19 - Using a special tool press in the brake caliper piston

      03:57 - Yes, really use a socket №17, 18 mm might spoil your bolts. And these bolts are kept tight... What is B5+ I don't know. Our Variant 1998 I think must be B5, has no caliper springs and needs no end bit №7 but a 13 mm socket.

    Thanks so much for making these tutorials, so far I've replaced front and back discs and pads, track rod ends, front stabiliser links and rear bump stops, and the car sailed through the MoT, cheers, and keep up the good work.

    Good vid. Thx! I get to do this today, less the hoist and nice lighting. But as a consolation, and I know I risk making many of your followers jealous in the extreme, I get to do this in the snow at minus 8°C! Ha! And you thought Canada was just warm dry fields of wheat blowing in the summer sun and vast virgin forests filled with poplar-nibbling beavers! Ha!
    Gotta run now and shovel the car out so I can get to the wheels.
    (All kidding aside, Thanks again!)

    Why make extra work by splitting the pad carrier from the caliper. Just remove the two caliper bolts and remove the caliper as a whole. Pads still come out just as easy

      Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately, each car requires particular replacement and everything depends on a technical condition of car parts units. Our videos are informative as to the replacement sequence, and it's always up to you how to replace a car part. Best regards, Autodoc.

    Do I have pop the good open and take the cap off of the brake fluid container that's underneath the hood? It didn't see him doing that in the video. On American cars, I have had to do that in the past. Idk if it's different for German vehicles. Thank you!

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the feedback! Most modern cars are equipped with a valve in the reservoir of the brake fluid reservoir, however, we do not recommend you to replace the brake system yourself, because your safety depends on it, you should contact a certified service station.Best regards, Autodoc.

      Thank you for your feedback ! Everything depends on brake system design of your car. If your car uses such part, then to replace this unit, you need to disconnect the electrical connector. Best regards, Autodoc.

      My 2000 Passat came with wear sensors, and I don't use them anymore. I think I had to connect the two wear sensor wires together to keep the sensor from turning on the dash.

    This tutorial didn't show the importance to clean the new disks with brake cleaner, the importance to lubricate the guide pins, the importance to use threadlocker on the bolts and the correct torque to tighten up. In my opinion this tutorial is very incomplete.

    Why in the fuck does the brake pad need a sensor?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment.
      For pads, a wear sensor is used, which signals the replacement of pads when they are worn.
