It hardly lasts a minute and half, not really efficient and effective from a technical and commercial point of view. perhaps there should be cages separating the fighters and a fighter has to climb a 12 feet tall fence to go and help his teammates after he's done with his individual opponent.
That would be so scary you being the last one left and all your team mates got smashed and you see the whole other team climbing up over your fence...

They should make bigger teams so the team that loses the first guy has some time to even out the power balance. They could also add substitutes so the fight takes longer and is down to the overall teams stamina and strength. They could also implement the rule that its forbidden to wrestle the other person to the ground, just fist knee and kick fighting. That way fights would be more fluid and strategic.

A comment on the format. I think the format could be definitely improved by the following suggestion. At the moment, as soon as one player taps out or gets knocked out, the fight is essentially over. So the fight is basically decided by who is your weakest link (as seen in this video). Because all the others are in a clinch and if there is one free fighter, then nobody can defend two on one. I think instead, you should keep it one on one fights, so that if you have eliminated an opponent, then you are free and have to wait until there is a new free opponent. For example, if a Pole knocked out a Russian, then he has to wait until a Russian beats a Pole before he starts his next fight. You would have a ten second gap for both fighters in the new matchup to get to their feet and then it's game on. The fight of the teams goes on until one team has no more fighters left. You could have some epic contests in this, where one team wins four fights and first and there's one fighter left in the other team, and he goes on to beat the entire other team one by one. I think this would also be a lot more commercially viable, with the fights going longer and more drama. What do you think?

You can defend against multiple attackers. I've done it on the streets a few different times and I'm alright, at best.

I've had my back against a wall, with three guys harmlessly punching and kicking against my raised guard, but I know that had I been on the ground it would have been over real quick. Same against two guys once, I kept both guys to my right, managed to hold long enough for a bunch of people to separate us. But they just fight as if no one is gonna join on the other side

Having a quick tapper on your team is a bad idea. THis sport is not for him. He cost USA the win.
It's definitely more brutal than the UFC. Kicking to the face while on the ground, getting punched in the face while someone chokes you from behind. But a street fight is still unpredictable.
+Meat Dragon the quick tapper didn't lose it for USA, they had already lost it when 3 of the 5 stopped advancing, 1 being a useless standup faceoff, and 2 even retreated in the initial contact... the tapper was simply outclassed and we'd be tapping too rather than choke... in the ring there's rules 1 on 1 till one person is out, but in the street a good game plan is for the faster guys to not totally engage one single opponent and preferably double team one or two opponents quickly with a quick single strike to either inflict injury or distract them for the bigger or harder hitting guy coming in behind.

I think the US team showed a lot of respect at the end by shaking hands even though they lost. I guess the rules of the game make it difficult for a team to win as soon as it looses one member so we can't blame them from loosing here since they lost one member very quickly in the fight.

They weren't ameteurs, but mentally weak. And the first guy ruined for the rest. Plus i think the americans were actually better skilled but well well
USA team was great skilled in MMA. For example Polish team who failed with americans has lots of habits from stadium fights. USA is better. They didnt have luck here with first guy so last down was a matter of time. I will gladly see them in next fights.

This competition's rules make it hard to fight multiple opponents, if it was more striking orientated with more safety for the fighter such as no head kicks and less grappling, then it'd be more possible, as striking oriented fights let you have more opportunities for quick knockouts.
Don't know why, but I watched every fight. The awnser is no, no team has ever come back to win. Once one taps, basically it's over.

First guy to go down leaves his mates in a very hard position. These fights will all probably be fast. Once you have the numbers it shows this isn't the movies. You cannot defend yourself effectively from 2 similarly skilled opponents in a closed space without weapons.

This was a Freestyle / Catch wrestling (Pankration) vs BJJ fight. We can see from the team introductions that Latvian team was full of wrestlers while U.S team was full of BJJ players.
Considering how wrestlers dominate pretty much all UFC weight categories, it's no surprise here that the Latvian team beat the U.S team so easily. Next year the U.S should introduce more American wrestler if they want to stand a chance.
