I'm glad they found this hopefully sooner than later. Ask the doctor though...does a fistula to the site (that they want to drain) and the fact you had Osteomyelitis from a bed sore before mean it possibly never went away and that it's now chronic?

Pa. So you win a medal for the most infections and crappy infections. Big giant trophy!! And omg I’ve had the joy of abscess draining and wound packing and all. Def need your chill med, pain meds and some go to your happy place stories and jokes. If it’s really awful you may be able to ask them to give you twilight sedation if it’s too much. You win the biggest trophy for the week from hell! Geez!! And as you are stuck there I assign you to ask for some hospital room decor like some hang up lights, art and maybe some trophies! Lol. Make it home for the moment as much as you can. If you don’t have it, have S bring your pillow from home and some pics of your kitty and mom and bring in a plant you can play with if allowed. They say God doesn’t give you more than you can handle. I beg to differ!! Sending hugs in the comfort hugging areas and some virtual Xmas lights to make your room. Cozy. Maybe a nature sound machine?

Dear Eirin! I'm still shocked you went from one medical facility to another!😮 Okay, well I guess with most infections it is possible to find hidden damage. I also suspect you may have caught a bug in Bergen? But do not despair too much. The procedures seem standard for fighting infection. And if they can drain it that's even better. Unfortunately infections can hold us hostage in hospital. I was given intravenous antibiotics once and it made me nauseous 🤢 so I can relate. But I'm glad you're somewhere safe with doctors who will take care of you 🙏. I'm glad you're eating and laughing in the face of adversity! That makes you stronger and more tolerant of what lies ahead. Please keep us updated on the situation! God Bless you and hubby!🙏🙏🙏🌹❤️

Ohhhhh Eiren _ about time u got a midline‼️ o crap another myelitis???? So frustrating‼️ You cannot feel most of this which Is dangerous!! Ask for sedative - ask for Versed - please‼️
Omg if you don’t laugh you will cry so keep laughing!! And develop your “go to my happy place” stories before any of the future procedures. It helps sometimes. I’m so sorry about the IV nightmare. I once had a two and a half hour horror show in a pre-op room with practically the whole hospital gunning for my veins and of course the more stressed, dehydrated or cold or any number of those and you get to have that fun. Learn where your big juicy veins are and make them use them when they are available. Also ask ahead for an IV nurse or anesthesiologist to do any catheter like that. Here id you say “I’m a hard stick and need a specialist” you sometimes get one and if they are just doing a bad job ask for the next guy without hesitation bc some of the younger ones are cocky and willl say they can get a vein and then get humbled by you being a hard stick. They have an ultrasound machine that can find your veins also. It’s not 100 percent but they sometimes find a deeper vein than is visible and palpable at the surface. I feel so bad for your panic attacks. Never fun. I will try to think about a good joke. I just had my own brand of fun driving two towns over to Neuro to let her know I’m drowning in fatigue for them to prescribe a new med fhay will have a side effect of fatigue before she gets me to the therapeutic dose and can cause weight gain while I’m having all the other docs say to lose weight haha. She then says I need to start sitting in the sun and for my pain to go workout in the pool since walking hurts so much. I said “so you are prescribing sunshine and swimming” as my advice. Lol. She said yes and I said welll maybe I can book a cruise then hahaha. So I came in for fatigue help, came out with meds that will cause even more fatigue and she is telling me to go walk and do the pool and be in the sun and I said ok I will be in the sun on a stretcher bc I can’t freaking stay awake. Unreal. I also had unusually high blood pressure and she Pooh poohs it as no big deal. I have a home machine for that and that’s prob half the reason I’m tired but I’m also on a mega ton of meds that make me tired as side effects. Soooo, I shalll he waving to you in your bed while I’m sunning and attempting to just get to the pool for pool therapy. Sounds fun if I’m not feeling under water by ten thousand leagues with fatigue and even more to come. High five for a very bad no good day!! Time for some jokes!
Erin I am sorry you have an abscess and osteomyelitis. I recently had three pilanal abscess (near bum crack) and it was agony if continue I will need surgery for it so know how painful can be. Take all loopy juice can as laughing will help time go faster take care sweetheart x
Dear Eirin you truly are amazing ❤. I was kinda sad for you but when I saw you laughing, I laughed too. I like these kind of dad's jokes 😂. I don't recall a lot of jokes I was told but I will think about a good one and share it with you. I knew a very similar joke with the chicken. Why do chickens always cross the road in front of cars? To go on the other side 🤦🏼♀️. It reminds me when I went to Canada the first time I met new friends and they were telling jokes. A girl got a laughing fit because of something she was thinking about. The more she laughed, the more we all laughed too waiting for her to tell the joke. When she could finally talk she said "it's not even funny" and she started to laugh again. We have never know why she was laughing 😅. But yeah it's contagious! I'm sure the doctors have some more jokes for you! I wish you the best. Take care dear sweet girl. I'm glad you are laughing. It is great medicine. I had a very bad experience with an IV in my hand when I was 18. This past February, I had to have surgery and then wanted to put it in my hand. I pitched a fit. It scarred me for life. Hope all goes well and you get fixed up soon.❤

Hello Eirin - Thank you for sharing your story. I broke my wrist last year at 59 years old. I was in cast and I saw how hard and exhausting life can be with one hand. All the crazy things in sports I did growing up and never broke one bone and here at 59 years old I fell in my own kitchen mopping my floor. Anyway. Okay, 1. You are amazing. 2. I will pray for you. 3. I am not very funny but funny things happen to me. I am in my 70s and think I'm 35, lol. Two weeks ago, had a small brick and mortar wall fall on my leg. We had tree damage in Dec. 2023 and it ruined my accessible van. Only wanted new tires for Christmas but got a newer van and a 6 year payment instead. It broke part of this wall, and it was crazy trying to get them to understand. Well, it got warmer in Maine, USA, and the wall came loose. I didn't know, and I was stabilizing myself, and the dang thing moved. Imagine my surprise. I decided I would try to slide it away. It had other ideas. I had to let it slide down my leg and try to stop it. Needless to say, when your disabled with MS and use an electric chair most of the time. I did not win. Now, I am not the smart, beautiful woman you are, so I had my own little fit. Fortunately, I started PT this week. I think😅. Hi Erin I have a medical question . Are your pressure ulcers open ? If so, and they are dressing them are they using any honey wound dressings? I used it for a patient with a very large pressure ulcer on her sacrum . The Honey paste and bandages healed her. As far as IV’s ask for the very best personal they have with the most experience with difficult sticks! You are having IV antibiotic therapy for a bone infection?
The new one is open and medical honey was used for the first months, but sadly wasn’t effective; it’s been primarily Aquacel Ag that’s been most effective this time ❤️ Yes, Tazocin for Osteomyelitis 😊
Does your Antibiotic run 24/7 ? I hope they are doing wound care every day and repositioning you often . You need a specialty mattress too. I want you to heal ASAP so you can get home! Stay strong and positive. One of my paralyzed patients from a stroke just got to go home after a long time in rehab.
I get doses every 8 hours 😊 They clean it daily 👍 I turn from side to side every 3 hours, which I have for about a year, but recently started sleeping on my back again - while still turning every 3 hours during the day 🛌 I have a Talley QUATTRO Acute (the green one) dynamic air mattress - it’s like laying on a cloud ☁️

The quinoa and faux chicken fingers looked good -- especially with the chili dipping sauce which I hope had some heat to it... 🔥 I made a cashew cream of mushroom-broccoli soup that is totally delicous; I will send you the recipe which contains soaked cashews blended to a creamy consistency). I hope that you have access to music, perhaps a radio or CD player or TH-cam... listening, and especially singing, is joyful. (I recall hearing you sing during Advent - so beautiful.) Okay, well I guess with most infections it is possible to find hidden damage. I also suspect you may have caught a bug in Bergen?
But do not despair too much. The procedures seem standard for fighting infection. And if they can drain it that's even better.
Unfortunately infections can hold us hostage in hospital. I was given intravenous antibiotics once and it made me nauseous 🤢 so I can relate.
But I'm glad you're somewhere safe with doctors who will take care of you 🙏.
I'm glad you're eating and laughing in the face of adversity! That makes you stronger and more tolerant of what lies ahead.

Omg if you don’t laugh you will cry so keep laughing!! And develop your “go to my happy place” stories before any of the future procedures. It helps sometimes. I’m so sorry about the IV nightmare. I once had a two and a half hour horror show in a pre-op room with practically the whole hospital gunning for my veins and of course the more stressed, dehydrated or cold or any number of those and you get to have that fun. Learn where your big juicy veins are and make them use them when they are available. Also ask ahead for an IV nurse or anesthesiologist to do any catheter like that. Here id you say “I’m a hard stick and need a specialist” you sometimes get one and if they are just doing a bad job ask for the next guy without hesitation bc some of the younger ones are cocky and willl say they can get a vein and then get humbled by you being a hard stick. They have an ultrasound machine that can find your veins also. It’s not 100 percent but they sometimes find a deeper vein than is visible and palpable at the surface. I feel so bad for your panic attacks. Never fun.
I will try to think about a good joke. I just had my own brand of fun driving two towns over to Neuro to let her know I’m drowning in fatigue for them to prescribe a new med fhay will have a side effect of fatigue before she gets me to the therapeutic dose and can cause weight gain while I’m having all the other docs say to lose weight haha. She then says I need to start sitting in the sun and for my pain to go workout in the pool since walking hurts so much. I said “so you are prescribing sunshine and swimming” as my advice. Lol. She said yes and I said welll maybe I can book a cruise then hahaha. So I came in for fatigue help, came out with meds that will cause even more fatigue and she is telling me to go walk and do the pool and be in the sun and I said ok I will be in the sun on a stretcher bc I can’t freaking stay awake. Unreal. I also had unusually high blood pressure and she Pooh poohs it as no big deal. I have a home machine for that and that’s prob half the reason I’m tired but I’m also on a mega ton of meds that make me tired as side effects. Soooo, I shalll he waving to you in your bed while I’m sunning and attempting to just get to the pool for pool therapy. Sounds fun if I’m not feeling under water by ten thousand leagues with fatigue and even more to come.

I don't recall a lot of jokes I was told but I will think about a good one and share it with you. I knew a very similar joke with the chicken. Why do chickens always cross the road in front of cars? To go on the other side 🤦🏼♀️. It reminds me when I went to Canada the first time I met new friends and they were telling jokes. A girl got a laughing fit because of something she was thinking about. The more she laughed, the more we all laughed too waiting for her to tell the joke. When she could finally talk she said "it's not even funny" and she started to laugh again. We have never know why she was laughing 😅. But yeah it's contagious! I'm sure the doctors have some more jokes for you!

I'm glad you are laughing. It is great medicine. I had a very bad experience with an IV in my hand when I was 18. This past February, I had to have surgery and then wanted to put it in my hand. I pitched a fit. It scarred me for life. Hope all goes well and you get fixed up soon.❤

Hello Eirin - Thank you for sharing your story. I broke my wrist last year at 59 years old. I was in cast and I saw how hard and exhausting life can be with one hand. All the crazy things in sports I did growing up and never broke one bone and here at 59 years old I fell in my own kitchen mopping my floor. Anyway. Okay, 1. You are amazing. 2. I will pray for you. 3. I am not very funny but funny things happen to me. I am in my 70s and think I'm 35, lol. Two weeks ago, had a small brick and mortar wall fall on my leg. We had tree damage in Dec. 2023 and it ruined my accessible van. Only wanted new tires for Christmas but got a newer van and a 6 year payment instead. It broke part of this wall, and it was crazy trying to get them to understand. Well, it got warmer in Maine, USA, and the wall came loose. I didn't know, and I was stabilizing myself, and the dang thing moved. Imagine my surprise. I decided I would try to slide it away. It had other ideas. I had to let it slide down my leg and try to stop it. Needless to say, when your disabled with MS and use an electric chair most of the time. I did not win. Now, I am not the smart, beautiful woman you are, so I had my own little fit. Fortunately, I started PT this week. I think😅. Hi Erin I have a medical question . Are your pressure ulcers open ? If so, and they are dressing them are they using any honey wound dressings? I used it for a patient with a very large pressure ulcer on her sacrum . The Honey paste and bandages healed her. As far as IV’s ask for the very best personal they have with the most experience with difficult sticks! You are having IV antibiotic therapy for a bone infection?
The new one is open and medical honey was used for the first months, but sadly wasn’t effective; it’s been primarily Aquacel Ag that’s been most effective this time ❤️ Yes, Tazocin for Osteomyelitis 😊
Does your Antibiotic run 24/7 ? I hope they are doing wound care every day and repositioning you often . You need a specialty mattress too. I want you to heal ASAP so you can get home! Stay strong and positive. One of my paralyzed patients from a stroke just got to go home after a long time in rehab.
I get doses every 8 hours 😊 They clean it daily 👍 I turn from side to side every 3 hours, which I have for about a year, but recently started sleeping on my back again - while still turning every 3 hours during the day 🛌 I have a Talley QUATTRO Acute (the green one) dynamic air mattress - it’s like laying on a cloud ☁️

The quinoa and faux chicken fingers looked good -- especially with the chili dipping sauce which I hope had some heat to it... 🔥
I made a cashew cream of mushroom-broccoli soup that is totally delicous; I will send you the recipe which contains soaked cashews blended to a creamy consistency).
