Good day : your video are my therapy. I wrote a comment on a video you're talking tomatoes appreciating this video 😀😀😀 btw love tomatoes.
Appreciate the the timing of this video, it helped to clarify a very difficult question I have on what to start with when decorating. Always looking for activites we can incorporate in community project and the bottle tree is a perfect fit . Love the provincial colour palette. Delicious cornbread recipe , I tried it with habanero😋😋 Thanks again for encouraging and inspiring us to garden out of our comfort zone. Happy spring and healthy gardening !🌺

Hi Mr. Smith! I'm a new viewer. I've relocated from Atlanta to Detroit and I'm learning all the new and wonderful things I can plant. BUT... I'm facing a dilemma. My son and husband are planning to build a potting bench with a planter on top so that we can have a "window box" in the kitchen. The planter will be elevated and it will get late afternoon sun. We are zone 6a/5b depending on which map you look at. What can I plant there that will be beautiful, good for containers, and can stand that afternoon heat? I'll do my best to water, but I'd love to get away with once a week watering if possible. THANK YOU for your work. These shows have been tremendously helpful!

I really love this video, especially the bottle tree. I have a problem with fireflies eating the leaves of my knockout roses. Could there be some other pest on my roses, that the fireflies are feeding on? I've never seen them out in daytime before, until I got my roses. I didn't want to use pesticides that would harm the fireflies or the hummingbirds that like to visit my roses too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Allen for all your helpful info.

As Spring approaches I always think about the various types of Lantania and Wisteria(Wysteria). Not sure how they will grow in salt air but I will give it a try.
    We really enjoy your videos.
    Cheers

A bottle tree is part of the Gullah Geeche heritage and is used to ward off evil spirits. They didn’t originate because they were pretty.

A bottle tree is not to my taste, but to each his own....

A simple bottle tree can be made by buying an old used artificial Christmas tree from your local resale store. Just remove the thick branch material from each branch and add a bottle to each tree branch. Secure the tree base into the ground with rebar or tent stakes so the high winds from thunder storms. Keeping the bottle tree from falling down.

Makes me think of the Jeanie in a bottle. But couldn't they cause molds to form on the tree and kill the tree? Seems like too much upkeep to bother with and the birds can't use the branches. I'd rather have birds than bottles, but they do make fun instruments.
