Im 15. I saw ur vid yoyomax12 and I decided to make one. I turned out really cool :D. My moms a math teacher so she was really impressed. It is currently hanging on my tree. :D. THANK YOU!!!
Have made these since 1960's for myself and gifts but your instructions and the punch will make so easy since older now. Love these. My son expects some each year since his cats love them as toys too.
Aw! I had a patient years ago that taught me how to make these shortly before she died so this warmed my heart when I came across it. I'll have to make one!
You did a nice job illustrating & explaining this ornament. Originally when I saw these made, it was a way of displaying a deceased family member’s card with their signature, as a sweet Christmas-treasured ornament. I hope this isn’t offensive or too sensitive to anyone, but just an idea? A few of the best & matching parts, including the loved one’s name with their writing ✍️, could be visible. I lost my daughter, Jan. 14, 2020 at 30 y/o, so I wanted to make at least one from her. Thank you for sharing this craft. I had forgotten how to make it.🙏🏼👼🏼🎄❤️🥰, Rhonda 💕
I have been wanting to make this ornament for a few months but making that triangle stumped me. Thank you for showing me a simpler way of making it. 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐I have a bunch of old calendars, maps & scrap book paper I can make these with.
I made these last year, I wish I would have seen this tutorial first this is the best tutorial I've seen on this. Great job. I love a youtube video that you get to what you are talking about right away and how you explain it and show the work at the same time. Great job and thank you!!
I've seen these ornaments before but your method is so much easier to follow, thank you! I made these last year following someone else's idea and somehow they made it very complicated and time-consuming. Yours is GREAT!
This is not the easiest. a hole punch, 2 1/4' at Michael's, makes creating the 20 circles, much quicker. Also, cut a triangle out of another piece of light cardstock, and use it to fold flaps up around it...no ruler required. Faster...
Watching you put it together gave me the idea to use it as a gift box for light weight gifts! Instead of gluing one last flap together, you could punch a small hole and tie it closed with ribbon. I will try this next Christmas.
Your instructions are very good. I traced around a bottle cap with a ballpoint pen and cut them out with scissors. I cut another circle from notebook paper for the triangle, and placed it over the circles scoring the corners with my thumbnail. None of it was perfect but the finished product turned out beautifully.
Oh wow - I think we made those in school or scouts. Lessee, that would be about 75 years ago or so. How fun to be reminded. That would be fun with the granddaughters. Thank you. We didn't bother to color coordinate them though, I like your idea much better.
I love this!! I bought a circle cutter at a $ store that is like a compass but holds an exacto blade instead of a pencil. It's so neat. I can cut circles from 1 inch in diameter to 6 inches. Now I finally have something I can use it for Thanks Tammy
nice way to re use cards. i have a mess of cards that i can not get rid of being i am sentimental but i would like to use them for some thing. i think it was beth who did a vid showing how you can make boxes out of them a few years ago but the more ideas the merrier :) merry christmas to you and your crew xoexo
I made these at my school and instead of big ones we made miniature ones and we had drawn the pictures our selves. We had to draw little christmasy themed pictures like a santa hat or reindeer antlers. We also did do small ones with christmas cards.
Very nice video. I've seen the circle cutters at Joann's Craft stores. I've also seen quilter's templates that are premarked into 3rds. This could save a step in the process if the size is right.
Thank You, this is so smart & such a fantastic Christmas ornament to make! I have just one question, where may I get one of those cutters? I went to Michael's & they did not have them, if fact, the woman did not know what I was talking about.
@grovesbm Strangely your English is much better on the other videos you commented on (the activity list on a person's channel page tells a lot about them, including that you left a hateful comment about a cute little dog) I suggest if you want to pretend to not speak English that you shut of the activity sharing on your channel, or make it unlisted. This isn't a hate comment, so I will answer your question, it was purchased at Walmart.
Great tutorial! Just curious where you can easily find the circle templates to use the cutter with? I'm going to purchase that cutter, and would love to have some templates to use it with. TIA!
I love this. My father's secretary made one for him when I was a little girl and I've never forgotten it. I thought it was so clever. It looks quite easy once you get the hang of it but I have a question regarding the glue. The stick glue looks so convenient but in my experience, stick glue doesn't hold well. Is this the best/strongest/easiest type of glue to use? Thank you for posting this project!
+John Doe Any kind of glue would be fine for this if you don't want to use the glue sticks. Regular white school glue (Elmer's type) would be fine as well.
Leaving an 'early' comment before completing watching because I forgot to load my cookie recipe. Oy! This is awesome to watch. I will continue watching but will have a different name in the end, I think
This cutter is more work than is necessary. Michael's sells a 2 1/4" punch, which makes quick work....no drawing, no scissors...just punch. Very fast. Also, the triangle can be found on the internet, Euclidean traingle, I think. Just adjust size to fit your circle, before you cut out a triangle. Quite simple...
Hey. Very nice indeed. just one quick question. Did u measure mathematically the dividin to thirds in the beginning or is there a logical origamical fold trick? :)
There is a 2 1/4' hole punch which makes faster work of making the 20 circles required. Also, the ruler slows things down, just cut a triangle to fit (you can find a triangle on internet, and make a cardboard (thin) triangle cut-out, place in center of circle, and fold flaps up...much faster.

oh I loved making these as a kid. They can be so pretty on a tree. you can roll the edges in glue and then in glitter to hide the edges. Very pretty.
Great, simple, straightforward demo. I love that you speed up through the repetitive parts. It makes it much easier for me to stay focused.
Aw! I had a patient years ago that taught me how to make these shortly before she died so this warmed my heart when I came across it. I'll have to make one!

i had no idea where you were going with it at the beginning, but that turned out really cute! very creative!

Thank You for taking the time to show us how to do these crafts. Merry Christmas to you & your family.

This is a beautiful ornament. Now I'm sorry I got rid of all my old x-mas cards last year. I'm going to start saving them again! Merry Christmas!
I love this!! I bought a circle cutter at a $ store that is like a compass but holds an exacto blade instead of a pencil. It's so neat. I can cut circles from 1 inch in diameter to 6 inches. Now I finally have something I can use it for
Thanks Tammy
I have seen these before but never quite understood how they were made. Great how to vid. thanks for sharing.
Lovely! These are one of my favorite types of ornaments from my childhood. I'm going to give it a try this Christmas. Many thanks and God bless!❤

OMG! I remember I did this in my fifth grade class! Your video really brought me back to memory lane! :)
I made this and loved the result! Thank you.
That's the best demo of that ornament I've ever seen!
these are soo cool ... I think i will modify them to make centerpieces for the dinner tables
Very nice video. I've seen the circle cutters at Joann's Craft stores. I've also seen quilter's templates that are premarked into 3rds. This could save a step in the process if the size is right.
@PowbowPuppie I bought it at walmart a few years ago
And it can be made littler, and it is a nice ornament. I really like it.
That's very pretty Tammy!
I bought it so many years ago (maybe more than ten?). I think it was Michael's but it may have been Zellers.
Wow! Totally amazing & mind blowing! It's just so easy to make. Thanks a ton for this easy yet amazing to decorate X-mas decor. God bless !
just made my first one, took quite a while but very happy with the result, going to make lots more, thanks for the video
what's that thing you're using to cut? it looks so handy
I bought it at Zellers or Walmart many years ago.
WOW very nice! I like this a lot. I am a card hoarder so this is a perfect idea.

@saphyreXice I was hoping you'd notice that, lol. I wanted to show all the cards I made and who sent them but the video would be too long :)
Thank You, this is so smart & such a fantastic Christmas ornament to make! I have just one question, where may I get one of those cutters? I went to Michael's & they did not have them, if fact, the woman did not know what I was talking about.

Great tutorial! Just curious where you can easily find the circle templates to use the cutter with? I'm going to purchase that cutter, and would love to have some templates to use it with. TIA!
it would be really cute to attach a jingle bell to the bottom too!
I use a clear glass to make my circles over the picture on the card, this way I can see what picture is on my circle!
I love this. My father's secretary made one for him when I was a little girl and I've never forgotten it. I thought it was so clever. I found that those little bottles of crazy glue that can be applied with a brush is easiest
\
I've always used Elmer's glue poured onto a square of paper & a toothpick.
Omg! That's so pretty and also a useful thing so you'll not throw your precious Christmas greeting cards (:
Much more systematic than when I did this with a Sunday school class...
I used to make loads of these, but bigger ones to hang from the ceiling, back in the 1970s :-)
system2success do you have pictures of the ones you made
