I've never really understood the attraction of collapsibility in a water bottle. Sure, it takes up less space to store, when empty--but are we all really that short on storage space? Is there some really compelling reason to sacrifice durability (c'mon--those accordion pleats have to break down, right?) for the storage-space savings?
Even backpacking as a use-case doesn't "hold water" (Ha!). A full water bottle still takes up so-much space in your pack. Congrats--you drank some water and now can collapse it--it still TOOK up space a moment ago, and there's really no significant advantage in collapsing it now....
I suppose that if you're traveling via plane you can take an empty water bottle on the plane, then open it up and use it at your destination.... But is there any other significant use case?
    Thoughts?

jaydub it’s more about the portability. It’s meant to be something you can bring basically anywhere and stay hydrated without very much to carry. Sure it isn’t isolated or what not but most people can include this in their own EDC.

I would typically buy this so I would be able to fit it say in my bum bag. That wayI can enjoy refreshments at a concert and put drinks into my bottle to use at mosh pits when the entertainment is on break so I don’t have to worry about my friends or myself constantly going back and forth between kiosks. Just little situations that don’t necessarily require but do supply ease. That is what this product to is intended for. Besides, a way to support non-single use bottles is trending

I agree it’s a nice idea and I wanted to buy one but the convenience factor is just not worth it. If I go travelling by plane with this bottle, i’ll still need to find room to put it in my bag or carry it by hand when it’s full. And I drink all day long meaning it’s always going to be in its fully extended state
