    Thanks again for sharing! Got to the top of Unicorn yesterday with a group from MHCC. Much different with more snow with some excellent glissading included.

    Great memories. I did the hike along the central group (Lane to Castle) about 2 weeks before you -- it was an awesome experience. "Have" to go back for Foss-Boundary 😂!
    I appreciate your other videos too. It helps give me insights on what is possible in the area in Winter.

      It’s an amazing area-I’m stoked to get back to the Tatoosh in the winter for some ski mountaineering as well!

    Awesome stuff! Can't wait to do it again. Is there a route up/down the boundary peak? I know of a trail connecting Unicorn with Tatoosh Lakes, but all the imagery looks sketchy. I could go there in person, but it would be great if someone had this information already.

      It sure is a fantastic linkup! And yep there’s a pretty straightforward route connecting to Boundary, I believe it’s the second peak I bag in the video. There’s also an extension out to Stevens and Tatoosh if you want to add more.

      @@RadishUprooted Thanks! I'm planning on going from Longmire to Tatoosh Peak in a day and needed to make sure I didn't need any extra gear

    Great video! Any chance you recorded a gpx track, or link the route track that you followed?

      Thanks! Unfortunately I think we only tracked it on Strava this time. Happy to provide any route details you’re looking for though.

    Holy crap. Scary for a parent to watch.

    Curious what footwear you recommend for this? Is an approach shoe good for this kind of thing? Trail runner?

    • @RadishUprooted
      @RadishUprooted  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d recommend a solid trail runner like the Solomon Ultra. If you’re wanting to take any of the spicier lines to any of the peaks, you’d definitely benefit from throwing an approach shoe in your pack. I think it’d be overkill for the stretches in between peaks though. YMMV.

    You say you didn't bring any rope or technical gear, but at 5:23, you're rappelling. Huh?

      That was footage of another party🙂

      @@RadishUprooted Ah, gotcha. Also, did you need a permit to camp midway through the hike? It's not a cross country or alpine zone on the map. Is there like a special bivouac permit?

    • @RadishUprooted
      @RadishUprooted  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s a cross country permit zone. You can grab one from the ranger station in Longmire before you start. There’s no quota from what I remember so they’ll be available.

    What length of rope would you recommend if you were to rappel some of the more technical downclimbs?

    • @RadishUprooted
      @RadishUprooted  ปีที่แล้ว

      None of the technical pitches were very long, honestly a 35 meter rope would probably cover your bases. 50 meter would for sure cover everything.
