The photograph used here is at Morden Tower, part of the old city wall in Newcastle upon Tyne in England's North east in the 1960s. Basil Bunting - the chap on the right in the glasses, a well respected poet admired by Allen Ginsberg. Lawrence Ferlinghetti obviously at the back. The readings there were organised by English poet Tom Pickard, still very much alive and kicking today. He brought many 'Beat' poets to Morden Tower over the years. I published a chapbook by Tom Pickard in the Beat Scene magazine series.
