My character use to get clobbered by bandits but he is now way too powerful and often bandits cannot even touch him without receiving a huge death blow from my character's magic using nothing but his mind and heart. My character barely has to move a finger before those who approaches him to attack dies. It's hard to find a boss who can take my character.
Depending on what system you play on... look into some boss mods. Nothing beats being op in Skyrim except being op and fighting something else op, it feels like two ancient Gods throwing hands.

Iam chosing to roleplay as a mage (that is somehow painfull and resort to using sword), iam o ly using archmage robe, a leather armor for hand and leg with total armor of 13. I got insta killed by almost every chief status enemy EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

That frost troll is easy with some magicka potions and scrolls of fireball
Frost trolls can't force your character into an instant, unavoidable kill animation.
