    I haven't seen a woodpecker for 5 years until recently, there was a pair in my garden.

      It's coming I'm very busy at the moment won't be for at least another month but it's on my to do list.

    I've often heard wood peckers pecking wood but hardly ever seen them. The sound of wood peckers pecking wood reminds me of the sound the predator makes in the Predator films.

      @@Chasingscalesspecieshunt I'm more of a bird listener than a bird watcher. I work from home a lot and often late on my computer. If I leave the window open many nights I can hear a (tawny?) owl. Its nice to have company. Lots of twoos and once a twit as well. Hearing both the twit and the twoo together made me happy - I guess he got lucky. My cat scares all the birds away from my garden so I only get to hear them unless I go for a walk.
