Im pretty sure the 2nd knife was to have a way to keep a knife somewhat safer while nit needing to have a sheath, because folding knives lose some stability and structure due to having a folding point but that knife has a built in blade cover while also having the stability and structure of a non folding knife

The second one is fantastic. Literally defeats the entire purpose of a folding knife, to be compact when closed.

On the other hand, instead of a folding knife you can look at it like a sturdy full-tang blade with a built-in scabbard.
Actually the first knife have another fearure, you can reattach the fork in the end of the extended knife's handle, this way you'll have a even longer knife

I have a CRKT Rollock myself, good steel and you can open it one handed. Under the Smith and Wesson brand a knife called the "Powerglide" was similar to the all stainless gravity knife you also demonstrated. When these and other designs are "broken in" they will open quite smoothly, I also collect odd knives and I make knives too!

You should look into getting your hands on a Cold Steel Triple Action Folder. The tanto blade version IMO would fit your appreciation for unique folding and opening knives very well.

I think the reason that the calamus knife has a folding blade guard instead of a folding blade itself is because the knife blade can have a Full Tang this way.

In the 80s I had one of those flippy handle ones, it was called a parachute or paratrooper knife. I only bought it cause it was so weird..
Nazi paratroopers had that. It opens really fast if you know how to use it.
There is something about the way he pronounces "pieces" that just brings me joy for some reason.

The second knife was probably made to bypass legal issues with folding knives in some countries. Still fixed blade but has folding guard.

супер! акцент это твоя фишка. в комментах только о нем и говорят. было бы интереснее смотреть, если бы ты добавил пару тестов для этих ножей. построгал бы чего-нибудь, картошечку порезал. сейчас ножеманы закидают меня какашками, но я забыл как зовут того парня, который тестирует всякие ножи в их бытовом применении. режет колбаску, хлебушек, картошку чистит, палочку строгает. нужно побольше таких тестов. ведь каким бы крутым не был тот нож, который висит у тебя на поясе, он сталкивается именно с такими задачами.

I have the one at around 7:00 and it’s very fun to just play around with, you get pretty good at after a while
