This video made me want to go back and listen to "Single album", "Double album" and then this album because I just listened the first two once when they came out and I remember being disapointed... and after listening to them yesterday I realize that I was not wrong haha! It's certainely not terrible but it's far from being great. In those three albums I think I really like 3 songs and the rest is either okay or bad. But I think waht I hate the most is that Fat Mike is not doing harmonic vocals anymore, he's just telling stories like as he would be talking... And yeah, he seems a little bit to much obssesed by his journey of alchoolic or drug addict... I mean I understant that it can be hard but at this point it's like just self-pity. I would give a 5/10 for these three albums altogether. Can't wait to see them in Montreal in august tho!
The numbers you guys come up with are wild, haha. Not disagreeing with the assessments but the exact decimal numbers get me! Did not enjoy this ep and came to see that I'm not alone. Too much sad bummer summer
Elliott/Ergoth... dude, you are RIGHT ON THE MONEY. I don't even need to expand on it, because you said it all perfectly, and better than I could say it. Your rant was epic. I am so tired of Fat Mike in general as a person. He's extremely self righteous and egotistical. Nothing will ever take away the very solid and epic run they had ranging from Ribbed to Coaster. I will always love those albums. But the person Mike became, and the subsequent music that would be expressed therein, is just not anything I'm even remotely interested in anymore. Good thing they're done. They obviously just can't write good music anymore, and these days I think they give more like 20 or so percent lol.
Hahaha thanks brother, these songs aren't for the fans, they are for Fat Mike 100%, and if he wants to do that it's completely fine, but I'm not gonna try and enjoy it. RIP NOFX
Mike's distorted bass sounds cool at times, but in comparison to the production of Wolves and even Coaster, the guitars and drums sound off, the guitars sound way to fuzzy, as if they were for a garage rock band. I don't think it works at all for their faster punk songs.
It’s because they’ve made better stuff so that means everything not decline, wolves, pid or so long quality the fans will hate it. Nobody hates NOFX more than NOFX fans.
I agree with these reviews. It's fine, not great. 5/10. These were all written around the same time, which is why I feel like they all have a similar sound and lyric sensibility. I would like mike to go in a different direction as well, if he makes more music.
I really don't like these newer albums from NOFX. The messy lyrical cadence really bothers me, which I first started noticing Fat Mike do that a little on Coaster and its just progressively gotten worse. His vocals are really off too. Don't know if he's being lazy in the studio, or if its just his age catching up with him, or if they just don't clean it up at all in the editing anymore. First Ditch Effort was the last album I liked from this band and it bums me out that they are sailing off into the sunset with out a bounce back album.
@@Mappy8899I used to have the CD and enjoyed it a lot at the time but hasn't stood the test of time for me. Relistened to self entitled and actually only liked the first few tracks so that one's not a fave.
As albums go Coaster is the last album I enjoyed as a whole. Beyond that it’s a song by song basis. So many skips. I’m a Rat is the only one I may listen to again.
#1 is just whatever too short not really a song #2 im a rat, great tune #3 also pretty good #4 i have to relisten #5 definitely a longer punk song trying to be creative and have a bunch of parts but it seemed like it was half assed and rushed and didnt enjoy it
I disagree. I like heebs, Drublic, and so long. Didn't like pump up the valuum. But I think wolves, Errorism, coaster were good. Single and double album weren't my cup of t.
Love seeing you all together! Im biased because I like the new stuff but I respect all of your opinions

I honestly really can’t get the hate for the newer nofx stuff haha
I really like the sound overall on single and double

First ditch, wolves, and coasters way better. I don't like either at all
@@ergoth154 I get that
I think I like that almost vintage sound a bit better
Those are great albums too tho!
@@ergoth154It’s weird cause the Blasting Room is usually always putting out great production on whatever they work on

The last drag is very good.
What do you like about it?
@@ergoth154 it wasn’t as terrible as the rest for a start😂 also reminded me of the old NOFX.

Preach Eliot 😂
Ergoth playing with fire in this video #industrycontacts hope you stay safe brother ✊
I'm willing to take the risk
I like all their studio albums from heebs on except petting zoo, valuum, single album, and double album.
Petting Zoo is my fav album. Maybe just the time it came out and nostalgia, but love it front to back.

I’d still take this over any Lagwagon record. Just my opinion but Lagwagon is a metal band that can’t play metal. And I’m not a fan of metal
Bad songs
Nofx sucks after so long and thanks for the shoes.
Not even the hottest take you've had honestly
Agree. Maybe could stretch it to Pump up the Valium…but it’s a stretch. I cringe when I think of the intro to the War on Errorism.
Utter rubbish.
