All three songs are so good!! I can't choose my favorite. 💙Also is it just me or does Without You kinda lowkey feel like it's about Cube? 😂 On his new youtube channel he keeps mentioning how he's really enjoying being able to do what he wants now.

Thanks for this! I love how Be Somebody feels like such a personal song for Sungjae. I actually teared up after the 2nd watching of the MV because I felt for him after noticing the different symbolisms in the MV and I felt that I understood more of what he was trying to get across.

I agree! I feel like I’ve finally seen a deeper part of Sungjae and the things that go through his mind 🥺 I also was tearing up a bit but stopped myself 😂 I’m so proud of him!

Thank you for this reaction..I love that it's long. Yes, these songs are really sounding new and different like those American/foreign songs..said to be of emo indie pop genre but they fit Sungjae so well..like his voice is made for this. BE SOMEBODY is so good, meaningful and victorious in a way. It's like Sungjae telling the world that after all that he's been through..the struggle, the restrictions..now he's finally free..he found his identity and he's not going back, ever. Well, maybe it has something to do with how he felt about his former company..not being able to do the things he wanted to, not being able to decide on which shows/projects he would like to do..not being able to showcase his talents to bigger or wider range of audience. Now he's really free and happy, doing his covers, making contents for his channel, choosing the shows he would like to be part of..he's even writing songs now coz he's one of the lyricists of Be Somebody and Without You. Our maknae has really grown and matured a lot experience wise and he's doing so well..and I'm so proud of him. And I'm also glad coz I think his chosen managing company is really taking good care of him now and really treating him as a true artist and asset to the company. WITHOUT YOU is really nice..not only from a guy's POV coz I can see myself saying these lyrics to the jerk I had in my life before, haha. I like it a lot..and it's so cool hearing Sungjae singing a song like this. THE GHOST is also unique..sounding like a ballad but not really..and also giving off that "I want to let go of you/get rid of you" vibe..and I like it that it's in pure English and Sungjae sounds so good singing it. Anyway, really nice sweater you got there..would like to have one too but it'll be so impractical for me here coz I think I won't be able to use that here in my country where we are currently experiencing extreme heat for months now and we're all slowly getting baked by the heat, haha. Again, thanks for this reaction..til your next one.
Agree with everything you said glen! I feel like this whole album is all about Sungjae coming into his own 😌 I feel so proud of our maknae ✨ I won’t pretend to know everything about Cube and what they’ve done. But I definitely think there are some things all members have always wanted to do that their company was holding them back from. ESPECIALLY with their international fans and even making more of a name for themselves internationally.
I love punk/emo music so Be Somebody and Without You were right up my alley. And I love that Sungjae is a lyricist on them as well! The Ghost is good too! Loved the English in the song and how Sungjae sang it 😍
All in all well done Sungjae! 👏🏼🫶🏼
