Annapurna & Basanti Puja is another important festival of Bengal. Goddess Annapurna is the Goddess of plenty. It is believed that Goddess Annapurna's barn is never empty. Anna’ means food grains. ‘Purna’ means full, absolute and perfect. Annapurna is the one who grants sustenance to everyone. Goddess Annapurna is worshipped with great devotion.
Basanti Durga Puja is the celebration of Durga Puja during the spring time. It is a huge celebration in the eastern parts of India and especially in West Bengal. Basanti Durga puja coincides with the Vasant or Chaitra Navratri celebrations.
In this video I have captured few glimpse of kumartuli where artisans are in the process of making Annapurna & Basanti idol for 2023.
