Pause the workday everyone!!! Anne has released a new video. Herod is a scent I crave, but I need to carry the bottle like an IV bag 😂. That is why I want to trick myself into thinking Mandorle is enough. Have a great rest of your day Anne!
I can not wait for the Holidays 🍁🦃🎄. Anne, I feel like I can experience wearing each fragrance without smelling it 🥰Your descriptions are very creative and beautiful, I can feel the mood of each scent! Thank you 💛
I loooooooove this category ❤❤❤ I pretty much love any and all spices but my spice of choice is cardamom. (Cardamom and vanilla?? Give it to me.) I’m almost done with my bottles of Santal Vanille and Ani…still working through Babycat 🐈⬛
I thought I was done blind buying Middle Eastern perfumes after being disappointed so many times, but hearing you talk about Lattafa Al Awsaaf had me come out of blind buy retirement. A bottle was only $18 so I figured why not? Oh my goodness. I dont know what it is about this fragrance but I find it absolutely addicting. The opening is a spicy, rum and coke on my skin but then dries down to a warm, smooth, soft, spicy scent. At first I was worried I'd be asked to walk a straight line if I was pulled over wearing this, but the fragrance becomes more rich each day I spray it and that boozy edge is definitely calming down. I absolutely love it even though this is a scent profile I haven't typically been drawn to. I find myself sneaking into my perfume chest throughout the day to huff the smell, lol! I've purchased and decluttered both Khamra fragrances and Paris Corner's Rifaqaat (which is supposed to be duping Babycat). They were beautiful, interesting fragrances but I found them too thick/suffocating. I get a hit of something fresh (almost fizzy) in Al Awsaaf that cuts through what could otherwise turn too thick/cloying. Thank you for introducing us to this hidden gem!
Hi Anne, love your videos! I would love to see reviews of fragrances/houses from less common countries, if that is something you would consider. Thank you!
Favorite time of year for Anne content!! ❤❤❤❤ (even though it’s the best fragrance content 24-7-365 😘). I completely agree that they watered down Herod, which is an actual tragedy. So many people have the same complaint, I hope they address it!
Aw! ❤️ It's definitely my favorite time of year to talk about fragrances! 😍 Unfortunately, I feel like when brands change their formulas, it's often making them less potent, not improving on them 😩💔
Yes! This is one of my favourite categories. I love spice in fragrance! Nutmeg does appear in many of my favourites too. One spicy fragrance that I’d love to highlight is Gilded from Libertine Fragrance. They are a small Canadian indie house. Gilded is spicy and sweet and has a little bite. Happy Fall Everyone!
I love Minuit et Demi! I also got Julianna’s dupe and it’s actually really good! Changing Constance is another warm, spicy that is yummy. Dua has a nice dupe of that for budget purposes!
The way I ran to my remote!!! Warm? Spicy!??? Yesss it’s my fav! I don’t fit in with the clean girl thing!! I’ve always been spicy! But I can’t do saffron due to br 54o? I’m still trying to figure out though is it too strong oak moss I don’t like ? Or saffron? 🤔
Possibly saffron? It can be a polarizing note, but I wouldn't completely write it off if you see it in a note breakdown because it can pull in a number of different directions 🥰
I think this (and Boozy) is my favorite scent profile. Magenta Tanzanite, Herod, Starlight, Minuit et Demi, Sand Dance...I could go on and on... but these are the usual suspects ❤.
I’m loving all the Fall fragrance content!! It’s not cold where I am yet but I can’t wait until it is. Have you tried For the Scent of it- Dreaming in Tonka? It’s not a Harrod dupe or anything but I would say they’re family members. The whole lucid dreams collection is pretty interesting but especially the Tonka and Oud ones.
Same! It's still 100 degrees by me 🥴 That brand is new to me! Do you have any other fragrances from that house that you recommend? I'd love to place a sample order, thank you for introducing me!
@@AnneLauren Of course!! You've introduced me to so many of my favorites. I also liked Dreaming in Pomelo, Rose to Nowhere and Nearly Nu (which has a cute story since he made it as a base for a future perfume and it became his wife's favorite so he released it as is.) I also really like to smell Epice Fern but I wouldn't necessarily wear it, it smells like a sexy toothpaste drawer.
Sorry so many comments but this is my favorite genre!! Ehh so excited lol anyway I’ve wanted the amethyst haze one for soooooo long! But I’m on La Budget! How is the lasting power and projection etc ? Usually when people review and they DONT mention that topic? I find it usually means it doesn’t last long?? Curious before I pull the trigger on this one ha plus i usually like the sweeter creamy coffees like replica! love that one but it doesn’t last on me
Anne can you please do a Best Vegan/Cruelty Free Fragrances video?!?!?!?!?! Especially a vegan/cruelty free green vanilla alternative to Diptyque Eau Duelle, they are sadly not cruelty free. Thank you in advance
amazing list ,i have 7 of these🎉🎉 I would add Raised Spirits Navitus Parfums ,Silky Woods Goldfield & Banks Australia,Gris Charnel Extrait BDK Parfums,Mercedes Benz Club Black,Althaïr Parfums de Marly and Triumph Of Bacchus Argos!!🥰🥰
Miss Lauren, please tell me you have sniffed the new kayali silk Santal? It is not how I remembered at all and would love to hear your thought. I was obsessed with last years but missed out, so purchased a full bottle this time around. So disappointed..zero nectarine champagne, All floral in opening with the sandalwood being sharper this time, less creamy and blended with the vanilla and praline from before. Reeeally hoping it just needs to macerate ☹️
I heard that about Herod. Is it really less performing and different notes? Anna how is it different? I got full bottle and it is my #1 pick in my 60+ decants and bottles. I wish it lasted much longer but it is heaven. The old batch I read changed in 2015/2016 but did not believe the story. Thanks.
Good question! I would describe them to be like cousins, so if you enjoy one, you would likely enjoy the other, but it wouldn't be redundant if you were to own both. AH has a more prominent lavender, it's more spicy, smells more unisex, and has better performance. CB is more gourmand, sweeter, more creamy, and more coffee forward :)
Have they changed Ebony Wood? I tested it recently per your recommendation and sadly only got a huge blast of grapefruit, which is a note I tend to really dislike 😢 I really wanted to love it too the notes sounded so lovely
@@marianaavilal grapefruit? 😧 I haven’t heard of a reformation, and the notes appear to be the same on the website? Is it possible that you tested Vetiver Pamplemousse from the same line? Because that one smells exactly as you described, a grapefruit bomb!
@@c.k.6287 i’m 100% sure it was Ebony Wood and some fragrantica reviews say they smelled grapefruit too! They may have reformulated and not updated the notes? No clue
@@AnneLauren I didn’t, I even took a picture of the bottle to double check the notes at home and quite a few Fragrantica reviews mentioned the grapefruit too! So strange cause nowhere do they mention any kind of citrus
i wish Santal Vanille was stronger on me. i overspray 20x but lasts 4 hrs. perfect scent profile. i use Lattafa Musamam White Intense for a similar profile, due to the better performance but hateee that it’s an ambroxan bomb
Why would PDM, decrease the performance!?? 😢They’re sooo expensive!? Grr 😖 hmm maybe it will get better with time?? Ugh I was going to finally buy that one! Can you suggest something similar for closer to $100-$150? Or a sexy cinnamon tuberose etc??
I don’t do Zara perfumes really? But I’ve had ebony wood a minute and on me it’s sooo sweet! I have like four roller balls as I love to layer it! But I heard they changed this one too!! 😢
Hi Anne, if you compare your new bottle of Herod with Divine Vanille, ise there any difference now? Divine Vanille was very weak for me and I was planning to buy Herod. But i wonder, do I really need it🤔 I hate weak fragrances
I decluttered Divine Vanille a couple years ago because it was redundant to have both, but compared to the old bottle of Herod I had, Herod was more potent, a tad sweeter, richer, smoother, and the notes were more pronounced. Divine Vanille has a slight sourness to it, not in a bad way, but I prefer Herod. If you are seeking strong performers, unfortunately, these new bottles of Herod aren't that.
I suspect Zara have changed something in Ebony Wood. I smelled a sample today in their shop (I live in Europe) and it's a pretty scent, but there was no woodiness. Maybe a little bit in the dry-down, but by no means a central note. It's a fruity, light fragrance. I got citrus and some freshness from the pepper. I would rather name it Red Fruitiness.
Is it possible that you might have tested another fragrance from that same line? Or something was mislabeled at the store? Because your description sounds exactly like Stunningly Venice, it has the same bottle, and has notes of bergamot, red fruits, and myrrh. Ebony Wood is honestly one of the darkest, strongest fragrances I own, has no citrus, and it's a woody/spice bomb!
@@AnneLauren Makes me think. I will try to sample Ebony at another store. I was looking specifically for it because I was curious about the wood bomb effect.
After watching your older videos on Herod, I bought a decant to try and fell in love with the scent but projection and longevity is a joke 😢 man PDM needs to stop watering down this masterpiece!
sorry Anne, but your videos volume is too low… I would have to go for the remote control if I’m away watching/listening to youtube videos, and lower it again on others videos. I’m on a stable volume but yours still plays lower 😬😊😓 could it be your mic is too far? Is it just me guys? 😅
